MORAL LEARNT
805: Mega-Mega Meowth Madness!   814: Harimaron Tai Mega Mega Nyasu!   IT'S MEGA-MANIA!                 The twerps and a greedy Chespin fight a mechanical Meowth   Don't understand what Mega-Evolution is AT ALL!   Steal a bunch of food, eat most of it, share a tiny bit, get credit!

The twerps are still in Lumiose City, and Ash is keen to get on to the next town and his next Gym Battle. But Serena stops them with an idea she has had - why don't they pop in and see Professor Sycamore and his high butt? They all eagerly agree, and Serena shows off a small basket of macarons she has made for them all to enjoy. It's just another pleasant day in Lumiose City, enjoying the sun with friends, a basket of treats, and a visit to a rogueishly handsome scientist!

But elsewhere in the dark, tucked away in the remains of an old broken down warehouse are Team Rocket, hatching their own schemes. They're watching a video of Ash's rescue by the Mega-Blaziken at Prism Tower, and they are VERY interested in the concept of Mega-Evolutions. Why? Because their plan is to have Meowth mega-evolve so they can catch Pikachu! Wobbuffet happily agrees, and Meowth seems to be on-board too (it isn't permanent after all) with just one slight reservation.... is that even possible? James seems to think so, he's come up with the idea and he's relying on somebody else for the details - Professor Sycamore! Sycamore is the expert on Mega-Evolution, so they're going to get the information from him and feed it into their database. They beam over at the shrouded giant machinery they've brought along as part of their plan, and James enthusiastically details the connections of how they will eventually rule the world. Jesse isn't following at all and asks him to run it by her again, but he tells her there is no need, because it’s MEGA-MANIA! That's right, we're talking about...

The twerps arrive at Sycamore's lab, where by a stroke of luck he's totally free to hang out with them and doesn't actually have enormous amounts of research to do as his region's leading expert on an exciting new field of Pokémon Research or anything. He is pleased to hear they are all traveling together, complimenting them on the idea. Serena offers her macarons to the Professor (that's neither the first or last time a young girl will do so!) and his sexy assistant immediately smells trouble - is this a new young girl trying to make time with her sexy Professor!?! She immediately speaks up to include herself in the offer of "everybody" sharing the macarons and suggest they eat them now. Sycamore begs off, saying he is a little busy at the moment but will join them later. They want to see what he is working on, and he says he has no problem with showing these children his cutting edge, highly valuable research. First though they settle down for tea with his sexy assistant, but once she has poured they realise the macarons are missing. Where are they? Being gobbled greedily by a naughty little Chespin hiding them behind a pot plant is where! The sexy Assistant calls out to it and it freaks out, knowing it has been caught red-handed. Apparently this Chespin has a habit of doing such things, and Clemont explains to Ash what the three starter Pokémon for the Kalos region are. Ash checks out Chespin with his Pokédex as it stares accusingly at them, worried they are going to steal ITS macarons! It doesn't like being crowded as they all gather around the pot plant and loom over it showing their teeth which is CLEARLY a sign of aggression! It pricks Clemont when he reaches for it and then gathers up as many macarons as it can, including stuffing some in its mouth before pattering quickly out of the room in an indignant huff. The sexy assistant apologises, and they decide to go bother Sycamore while he tries to do research instead.

But somebody else has their own plans to ruin Sycamore's day. As he greets all his Pokémon in the little interior garden a truck smashes through the wall, backing up before his startled eyes. The Pokémon scatter as the truck brakes to a stop and Team Rocket leap out, Meowth explaining they're here to "borrow" him for a while. As always he is more interested in the fact that holy shit that Meowth can talk, and so doesn't dodge when he is shot with a net. Bundled up, he is slightly distracted when Jesse's crotch comes by, and she and Meowth pick him up and toss him into the back of their truck. Jesse dusts her hands off and she and Meowth head for the cab, spotted as they go by Serena and Bonnie.

They open the back door of the truck and climb into the storage, thinking they're clever and stealthy (or maybe just pleased to see him tied up!). But as they try to get at his restraints, the truck starts up and they all jolt forward... and the door slams shut! Team Rocket pull out of the hole in the wall, followed by Chespin which tries to catch up to them, but its little legs are too small and it just tips over flat on its face. But as all seems lost, inside the cab Bonnie asks Serena what they're going to do now and Serena spots that Dedenne is eagerly sniffing the air.

Back on the road, Chespin is watching the car depart as Ash, Clemont and Sexy Assistant round the corner and find it. She's horrified that her sexy Professor is missing, and she can't be too pleased to hear that the young girl who sashayed her hips through the front door with a picnic basket for him is nowhere to be found either. Ash calls out Fletchling and tells it to follow the truck, and Sexy Assistant tells them she'll go inform Officer Jenny, having belatedly remembered that this is something people are supposed to do. After she's gone though, having left the Chespin that is technically in her charge standing in the middle of the road, it gets a sniff of what Dedenne did as well. Moving ahead it discovers a small piece of macaron, and gobbles it up. It continues on, following the trail that has been left by Bonnie and Serena, who obviously figured out from Dedenne's sniffing that this was a way to leave a trail.

Back at the old warehouse where Team Rocket are based, the trio triumphantly haul open the doors of the truck to grab Sycamore, and discover a scandalous scene that would make Sexy Assistant wail in despair!

Even Dedenne is getting into the action!

Team Rocket are furious to begin with, but then things get even worse when the twerpettes have to gall to introduce themselves... by motto!

"Prepare for trouble, I'd say you bad people have finally met your match!" cries Bonnie.
"And, make it double crook catch!" adds Serena.
"To protec-" they start together Bonnie, but that's all she gets.
"TWERP THIEVES!" roars Jesse in a rage.
"COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT!" snaps James, as the twerpettes trail off unsteadily.

They yell at Team Rocket to let Sycamore go, pissing them off even more as they whip out the tape and leap into the back of the truck, easily overpowering the small girls and tying them up like something out of a bad fanfiction. Furious, Bonnie calls for Dedenne to use Thundershock now..... and then realises that Dedenne is happily sleeping tucked up inside her carrybag, even though only a minute earlier is helping to nibble through Sycamore's restraints!

Team Rocket cackle evilly and explain to Sycamore that they want all his research data on Mega-Evolutions, and if he doesn't give it to them then they'll.... torture him! With an evil grin, Meowth bares his claws and... begins scratching a sheet of metal, causing Sycamore, Serena, Bonnie and even Dedenne to squeal in discomfort. Even Jesse and James are freaking out over it, but Sycamore quickly gives up and tells them the data is in his pocket. It turns out this isn't just something he says to his Sexy Assistant, as Meowth fishes his paw in and pulls out a small memory card.

Meyer tootles down a dirt path on his scooter with his Ampharos riding on the back, and seems entirely unsurprised to see Ash and Clemont following a Chespin up the path from the other direction. He passes by, making pleasant conversation and asking the fruit of his loins if something is the matter. "Something.... terrible..." Clemont manages to gasp as he attempts to keep up with the far fitter Ash and energetic Chespin. It seems his cardio really is that bad all by itself, as for once he isn't carrying a giant backpack of inventions with him.

Chespin reaches the end of the trail of macarons (that not a single other Pokémon has eaten!) and they find Fletchling circling overhead. Sneaking up on the warehouse (Meyer hasn't followed or offered any help!), they peer in through the open doorway and spot Team Rocket gloating over their tied up captives. Chespin spots something far more important though... the basket of macarons!

Was this its concern the whole time?

It sneaks into the warehouse, while Sycamore explains to Serena and Bonnie that Team Rocket are going to use his research data for bad purposes. So why did he give it to them then? Well he didn't want to, but with a sly smile he explains that he didn't want the little ladies to get hurt.

This motherfucker is smooth!

Chespin trips over a large cable and looks over at the power supply it is connected to, then grumpily continues on towards the precious macarons. Meanwhile, James is inputting the data from Sycamore's memory card into their "secret weapon". Meowth comments that he is being "pumped up big time" but how exactly uploading data into a machine makes HIM mega-evolve is unclear. Outside, Ash wants to rush in to save the others, but Clemont points out that doing so would likely just get them caught, since it's not like they have access to small creatures with extraordinary elemental and psionic powers with a proven track record of beating up Team Rocket or anything. Chespin reaches the table with the macaron basket on it and begins climbing up, but it reaches the basket just as Jesse reaches for it to perhaps one of her own. Chespin freaks out and falls backwards into a pile of empty cans, getting Team Rocket's attention. As they stare, Clemont decides that maybe he was being too conservative after all, and for once he is the one who leads the charge in, with Ash and Pikachu bringing up the surprised rear.

Team Rocket are surprised but pleased, now they don't have to chase after Pikachu! Ash demands they let their friends go, and in return they get a motto (an official one!):

"Prepare for trouble, you're half right !"
"That is our name, but your friends are stuck tight!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jesse!"
"And James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare for one mega-evolved fight!"
"Meowth, dat's right!"
"Wobbuhhhh!"

Unfortunately for them, official or not is seems that the twerps have long since stopped paying any attention to Team Rocket and their mottos!

Serena and Bonnie are freed, infuriating Meowth (with Wobbuffet in sad/happy agreement), and matters only get worse when the twerps CONTINUE to ignore them, happily talking about heading on their way. But just then James' laptop beeps, the upload is complete! James asks if he is ready and Meowth rushes under the tarp as James' fingers dance across the keyboard like a mad genius. What is going on? It's a mega-mega evolution! It seems they have used Sycamore's research to push Meowth to the next-next limit! With the press of a button, the system lights up, the tarp is tossed clear and Mega-Mega-Meowth is revealed!

That's... that's not how Mega-Evolutions work, Team Rocket! That's just a robot!

Despite the lunacy of what they're witnessing, both Sycamore and Clemont are impressed by the robot, Clemont especially so! He blushes and his eyes are sparkly with joy as he raves about what an amazing creation it is, causing Serena to yell at him that this isn't the time for cheerleading the bad guys!

The twerps rush out of the warehouse, Mega-Mega Meowth smashing through the wall in pursuit. Chespin runs clutching the basket of macarons but trips on a rock, and even though the Mega-Mega Meowth is bearing down on it.... it still stops to try and scoop up the macarons because it has its priorities straight! Clemont grabs it up in his hands and slides clear of the Mega-Mega Meowth, hiding behind a pillar and watching as it rumbles on after the other twerps. He is relieved Chespin is okay, and it notices he has hurt his shoulder, and so offers the best thing it can in terms of helping him out... a macaron! He thanks it and explains that he has to figure out a way to help his friends because they're precious to him.... just like the macarons are precious to it!

FINALLY somebody puts it in a way that Chespin can understand!

Having gotten into the open, Ash turns around and prepares to fight Mega-Mega Meowth as IT prepares to capture Pikachu. He orders a Thunderbolt, but it slams right into the Mega-Mega Meowth's charm which absorbs it and reflects it right back into Pikachu. This still doesn't explain how Team Rocket thinks this has anything to do with Mega-Evolution, but they seem happy so let's not bring up that they had their hands on data that WOULD have made Giovanni pleased with them!

Chespin remembers tripping over the big cable and points it out to Chespin, trailing back from Mega-Mega Meowth's rear end. They follow it back to its source, while Mega-Mega Meowth appears to be preparing to literally run over Pikachu! It stops at the last second to try and grab at Pikachu with one metal claw though, as Ash scoops up Pikachu to try and protect him. But to Meowth's shock, his Mega-Mega Meowth robot suddenly stops and all the lights go out! Behind it, a proud Chespin and Clemont pose with the cable they have unplugged, thinking that they've saved the day.

Unfortunately for them, James actually bothered to build in an auxiliary power supply!

Meowth opens his Mega-Mega Meowth's mouth (that was a mouthful!) to ask what to do and James tells him, and since Ash didn't take the chance to have Pikachu zap Meowth he is free to just shut the mouth again and crank up the power. Mega-Mega Meowth is back in action, and Clemont rejoins Ash, commenting that Team Rocket are well prepared. Chespin shouts out to him and he realises that it wants to fight, so he orders a Pin Missile attack on the bot.... which does nothing! It doesn't even mar the paintwork!

Chespin turns to Clemont for advice, because that is what Pokémon trainers are for after all! Clemont considers and uses that genius of his to call for Chespin to use... Tackle! On a giant robot!

Shockingly, this doesn't work, and Clemont doesn't really help confidence any by shouting out loud that it's no good, it can't beat it! But Chespin keeps on trying, headbutting again and again as Meowth goads it from the safety of the interior and Clemont is impressed by its fortitude. Pikachu is too, and Ash decides that the two of them working together will surely work, so they do a Tackle/Quick Attack combo.... which also does nothing! Meowth mocks them yet again, metal claws reaching out to grab them both..... which is when it gets punched in the face by a giant flaming kung-fu chicken!

I hate when that happens!

The Mega-Blaziken leaps back and lands on a tree, the twerps looking up and remembering this is the same Blaziken that helped Ash at Prism Tower. The masked man is there too, arms folded and glaring at Team Rocket. He orders a Flamethrower which smashes into the Mega-Mega Meowth's face, blazing through the metal, incinerating it and turning it to charcoal. The entire thing falls apart under its own weight, leaving a sooty and surprised Meowth sitting in the now useless control room, exposed to the open air.... and now he has no protection from Chespin and Pikachu!

They blast the remains of the Mega-Mega Meowth with Electro-Ball and Pin Missile, scoring a direct shot on the auxiliary power supply as Meowth cowers in fear. A troubling whistling sound begins to grow louder, Meowth commenting fearfully that it sounds like the kettle, while Jesse and James mumble sadly to each other that this sound can only mean one thing... they're blasting off again!

Ash and Clemont celebrate their victory and turn to look up at Mega-Blaziken and its masked trainer who quickly leap away and disappear. They seemingly forget all about this mystery to turn and congratulate Chespin, who looks exhausted and ready to drop... until Clemont offers it some macarons and it perks back up.

How many fucking macarons were in that basket anyway!?!

But as it grabs them and prepares to gobble them down, it stops thoughtfully and then offers them to the twerps instead, running to each in turn and finally to Sycamore. They all thank it and Clemont comments that if it isn't careful there won't be any left for it (it already ate like 7000 of them!).

The twerps return to Sycamore's lab as the sun sets, where he thanks them for their help in rescuing him. They're concerned about the damage to his sexy lab though, but he assures them it will all be fixed by the next time they visit... which could be his way of telling them to never fucking come back ever again! Before they can go though, Bonnie points out to Clemont that somebody is watching them - Chespin is timidly peeking around the bushes at them. Clemont thanks it for helping them and says he is sure they will see it again soon, and it freaks out at the thought of him going. Sycamore tells Clemont that Chespin wants to go with them, it was a pleasure to see him and Ash work together and seemingly he thinks Chespin agrees. Bonnie is all for it, and Sycamore has no objections, offering him the Pokéball and saying he can take it if he wants (it's not like he can't get more!). Clemont politely asks Chespin if it wants to come with them and it eagerly agrees, so he recalls it to its Pokéball and he and Bonnie celebrate. With that done, Ash decides enough is enough and it is time for them to move their asses, as he just charges on down the street and they all have to rush to keep up.

So on they go, leaving unspoken the great mystery of just who this mysterious masked man with the Mega-Blaziken is. Who could it be? Will this mystery ever be solved or are we all doomed to go mad as we pore over the amazingly clever and subtle clues as to his iden-

Oh never mind, it's Meyer! :/
