MORAL LEARNT
770: Team Plasma's Pokémon Manipulation!   776: Purazuma-dan no Yabo! Ayatsurareta Pokémon-tachi!   Angry Dragons and Weird Shit                 The twerps, N and Looker try and stop a Haxorus on an artificial rampage   All up in Plasma's grill   Good intentions don't shield you from overpowered projective attacks

Today finds Team Plasma working out of a small, dank laboratory in the middle of the desert. Colress is testing what appears to be some form of laser beam on a Scolipede, blasting it in the head and causing its eyes to glow red and its body blue with anger. It blasts at the laser beam, which pleases Colress even if the numbers he is reading are lower than he'd hoped for. Within the containment cell holding Scolipede, a Maractus and a Deerling cower in fear, though Scolipede's fury disappears at the touch of a button from Colress, leaving it confused and uncertain what is happening. Colress explains to Ghetsis who is watching on a monitor what he has done - thanks to upgrades he can now target a specific Pokémon to maximise their powers and control them, as opposed to the wide, unfocused energy control he was displaying earlier. Ghetsis could give a shit about any of the details, though, he is only interested in the end result, and "suggests" that the female Plasma agent Aldith take the machine for a test run. She does just that, she's out to test...

The twerps and N continue on their meandering way to the White Ruins, though they won't be together for long. N will be departing at the next town, much to Axew's sadness and Iris' disappointment, but Cilan notes that N has his own things he needs to do, though he will be sure to prepare a suitable farewell feast before they part ways. Ash has basically only heard,"Blah blah blah N blah blah blah blah feast" so he happily agrees to whatever it was that was just said, and Pikachu enthusiastically agrees - both plan to eat till they pop.

At Ghetsis' base, he receives reports from his Agents out in the field... including a report that the grunts haven't been able to locate N. N? Why are Team Plasma looking for N? Various projects labelled with letters like G and F report in as well, and then one from the White Ruins themselves. They're watching Cedric Juniper and his team doing their excavations, and Cedric bellows out suddenly,"LOOK! THE FIND OF THE CENTURY!" much to the excitement of his assistants, till he belatedly adds,"Hasn't happened yet!"

It must be fun on a bun working for Cedric.

Ghetsis tells the grunts spying on Cedric and his team not to miss anything, he wants to know the very moment Cedric finds what TEAM PLASMA are looking for.

Meanwhile, the twerps and N arrive at a bridge leading into the center of the next city only to be stopped by a single Officer Jenny, who is responsible for keeping ALL traffic out all by her lonesome - it's a quiet town. Jenny explains that a Haxorus is running wild inside the city, determined to destroy everything in its path. There doesn't appear to be any reason for its attacks either, which even Ash and Iris are smart enough to know is some bullshit - Pokémon don't just go on rampages for no reason.

Team Rocket - watching for the bushes - are on the ball as well. They quickly draw the comparison between this and Floccesy Town, where Pokémon were also rampaging for seemingly no reason. The source of that problem was Team Plasma, and Jesse, James and Meowth figure there's a good chance they're behind this as well. Proving the ineffectiveness of Jenny's solo barricade, they slip away through the bushes to enter the city unseen. Jenny might have seen them anyway, if she wasn't at that very moment locked in a skirmish with Iris!

Yes the little girl is struggling to force her way past Jenny, who has to physically restrain the angry young girl. Iris complains that she's worried about the Haxorus, and Cilan suddenly calls out to her that they can try another way and leads them away from Jenny, who yells angrily back at them that the entire city is sealed and all the bridges are guarded. It must be a hell of a thing to have her authority flouted so casually by a bunch of kids, but since there's only her at the bridge it's not like she can rush after them.

Getting to the next bridge and seeing that it is guarded by a solo officer as well, Cilan suggests they COULD swim and Iris looks more than ready to dive in. Before she can though they spot a boat left tied up near the bridge (way to go, Officer Jenny) and they quickly and easily sneak down and steal the boat. Hilariously they get the smallest, weakest, scrawniest little boy to do the rowing, and Ash has to struggle to keep them moving as the boat springs a leak and Iris hisses at him to hurry up. Arriving just before the boat can sink with all the water that has entered, they rush through the deserted streets (where did all the people go? There is no sign of any of them milling around the bridges or anything) but spot no Haxorus.... though they do spot a Looker!

The International Police Officer is surprised to see them and asks what they're doing there, and a frantic Iris says they're trying to find and help Haxorus. Looker notes N and asks who the newbie is, and when they tell him N's name, he says a happy welcome.... and then makes THIS face!

Uh oh!

It seems that Looker is aware that Team Plasma is looking for N, and he doesn't seem to think too much of the young man. N says they need to hurry and they set off in search of Haxorus again, while in the air above Team Rocket have easily bypassed the police barricades in their Happy Buddha Face Meowth Balloon. Hearing booming sounds in the distance they follow the sound and finally find the Haxorus rampaging about, blasting holes in nearby buildings and the roading. Team Rocket also spot Team Plasma's ship on the roof of a building, where Colress' machine is set up. Aldith is impressed by Colress' progress, with a single Haxorus they have "conquered" the city, but the vain scientist is already setting his sights higher. He dismisses the idea of contacting Ghetsis to report their progress, he believes that "Mister" Ghetsis (everybody else calls him Lord) has bigger targets in mind than a single city. He thinks he'll have to upgrade his machine further to control a Pokémon even more powerful than a Haxorus, and laughs with pleasure at the scientific challenge it represents. Aldith, for her part, has no idea what the hell he is talking about.

The twerps, N and Looker have also followed the explosion from ground level and have finally found the Haxorus. N wonders what could have happened to it, and Ash checks to see if maybe his Pokédex somehow has the answer, and only learns that a Haxorus is a tough ass motherfucking thing. It spots them and blasts a Shadow Claw at them, and they all dodge aside before Ash comes to a novel solution to all their problems - he'll battle it!

He and Pikachu step up to fight, but Iris pushes past him, saying she'll deal with this since it is a Dragon-Type. Running up to Haxorus, she throws her arms wide and asks why it is going on a rampage, and in response it blasts another Shadow Claw at them, N leaping to the rescue and knocking Iris and Axew aside.

N can't decide what is wrong, and calls out to his "friend", wanting to know why he can't understand it like he normally does with Pokémon. Looker does a scan and gets some strange EM readings, and realises that somebody is screwing with Haxorus' mind, and Iris asks if it is Team Plasma, remembering the last time they encountered something like this. Looker at least has something to go on now though, and he throws out the little electronic device he used in the past to create an EM shield around Haxorus. Unfortunately Colress' machine has been significantly upgraded, and the EM waves that are affecting Haxorus' brain patterns are too powerful to keep out - the shield shatters, and Looker is forced to admit he can't do anything to break Team Plasma's hold over it.

Settled down comfortably on their own rooftop, Team Rocket are observing Team Plasma through binoculars. Jesse has figured out that they're controlling Pokémon with "that thing" and James asks why they don't just steal "that thing" then? Meowth agrees, then they can have all the Pokémon in the world for themselves!

Down on the street, a little boy rushes up and cries out to Haxorus to stop, but it attacks him too. Ash rushes to his rescue and asks who he is, and he replies that his name is Little Mr. Haxorus' Trainer Boy (Lil' Mr. HTB for short). Haxorus has always been calm in the past and he can't understand its current fury, so they make the rather reasonable suggestion that he recall it to its Pokéball. Lil' Mr. HTB says that's no good because Haxorus won't listen to anything he says (what bearing does this have on anything?), and N agrees, saying he tried to communicate with Haxorus and couldn't get through. Looker, while all this is going on, is just GLARING at N with hate in his eyes, haha.

Haxorus lets rip with blast after blast after blast of attacks, and N warns that if it keeps up at this pace then it will seriously hurt itself. Ash as always has the solution - fighting! He has Pikachu use Thunderbolt on Haxorus, but it has no impact whatsoever, much to his surprise - he's tried the only idea that ever works for him and it didn't work! Iris follows up on the concept though, bringing out Dragonite to attack with an Ice Beam that freezes it in place in a giant block of ice. But Haxorus is so incredibly fired up with fury that it actually tears free of the ice, ready to fight on till it collapses or dies from the effort.

Luckily for it, Team Plasma have finally noticed the twerps, and Colress is intrigued by Dragonite. Targeting the big dragon instead of Haxorus, he zaps it in the forehead with his highly focused beam, and the confused Dragonite finds itself with the unpleasant sensation of Colress in his head, telling him what to do, go on a violent rampage with all the power at its disposal!

The twerps are horrified, particularly Iris, while Lil' Mr. HTB realises that this is the same thing that happened with Haxorus. Dragonite blasts at Iris, which is just what Haxorus did to him as well, and Iris tries to recall Dragonite to his Pokéball only for him to zip aside, unwilling to let anything prevent him from his rampage. Ash FINALLY realises what he should have realised at least 10 minutes ago - when you've got a super powerful Pokémon on a rampage, you bring out the big guns to fight it - you bring out Charizard!

The two Pokémon find themselves going at it once again, though this time Dragonite is souped up with power and looking to kill, while Charizard is just trying to calm him the fuck down. Despite no longer being the focus of Colress' device, Haxorus is also still rampaging about, and Cilan decides to deal with this using Crustle. The four Pokémon proceed to cause even MORE property damage, while up on the roof Team Plasma have finally noticed N and rush to their ship, flying down to expose themselves such is their need to confront him for Ghetsis.

The twerps are horrified when they realise that N and Team Plasma apparently know each other, in fact N is supposedly under orders to report to Ghetsis himself. N snaps that he doesn't care what Ghetsis wants anymore, all he wants to know is what they've done to Haxorus and Dragonite. Colress, happy to show off, brags about how he has enraged the Pokémon and given them access to 120% of their normal power output - why, he's doing them a favour by using his device on them! N demands to know how he has done this but Colress isn't going to be drawn on that, telling him to figure that out for himself. But as they verbally spar, Team Rocket are gleefully listening in on confirmation that the device allows Colress to control Pokémon. Leaping into the Plasma Jet, they begin wildly poking buttons trying to make it take flight, getting Plasma's attention. Aldith sends her two grunts to deal with them, and they struggle to haul Jesse and James out of the cockpit while a hilariously serious-faced Meowth sits in the pilot's seat bapping at the buttons with his paws.

As Ash and Cilan continue to try and fight Dragonite and Haxorus, Team Rocket are tossed out of the cockpit, and Aldith demands to know who they are. The answer, of course, comes in the form of a motto!

"Prepare for trouble, you know the drill!"
And make it double, you'll get your fill!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite the people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"It's Jesse!"
"And James!"
"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth, dat's right!"

Amoonguss and Woobat fight Aldith's Liepard which seems capable of holding them both off, but Meowth also joins in to attack... a Plasma Grunt! The grunt screeches with pain as Meowth happily uses Fury Swipes on him, letting a human get a taste of the attacks their Pokémon frequently have to put up with.

But while all this chaos is going on, Looker is actually doing something useful, tracking the strange EM readings to the Plasma Jet and guessing the device responsible for all this is inside. As he examines it though, N decides to make a big, brave and utterly useless grand gesture by rushing up to Dragonite and Haxorus and begging them to stop. The two blast him without a moment's hesitation, sending his body crashing to the ground unconscious. Aldith orders an attack that goes awry, winging the Plasma Jet instead and sending sparks of damage through the body, affecting the device inside and switching it off, knocking Looker off to the side as well. A confused Haxorus and Dragonite's brain patterns return to normal and Lil' Mr. HTB and Iris recall them to their Pokéballs. Realising that they can't control Pokémon for the time being but satisfied that the testing was a success, Team Plasma decide to make their escape. Jumping into the jet, they fly away, reporting to Ghetsis that they've found N. He instructs them to secure him with force if necessary, and they promise to do so... while flying away at great speed from the currently unconscious young man!

Down on the ground, the twerps move towards N to try and figure out a way to help him, but to their surprise a strange fog comes rolling into the city. Just outside, Team Rocket comment that the fog is cramping their style as they can't turn to their fallback position of capturing Pikachu, but then hear the twerps voices and rush inside to attack. The voices they heard were raised for a reason though - to the twerps’ great surprise two young women, a Gothitelle and a Gardevoir have appeared from out of the fog. With a nod, N is lifted up psychically and levitated over to the odd arrivals who silently turn and disappear back into the fog. The twerps give chase, followed by Team Rocket who emerge first from the fog to find themselves now somehow in a forest instead of a city, and standing on the edge of a cliff! "A real cliffhanger!" gasps Meowth.

Elsewhere in the mysterious forest, the twerps follow the silent quartet and the floating N to a small pool of water that N is submerged in. Stepping up to the edge, the twerps can only stare in confusion as the unconscious N floats in the water, silently watched by the two Pokémon and the two women. All this leads to the question...

What in the fucking fuck is going on!?!
