MORAL LEARNT
765: Team Plasma's Pokémon Power Plot!   771: Akuroma tai Hansamu! Purasuma-dan no Inbo!    Look(er) Whose Back!                  Team Plasma finally make their debut on the show   Old-schooling the new kids   Dr. Mengele was a terrible role-model

Today's episode starts in a grim way, as a blond haired man with a truly horrific blue bang sweeping out form his fringe. In a dark, concrete room a terrified Galvantula is trapped inside a glass dome, being mocked by blondie who zaps it with electricity, pumping it with power that drastically increases its strength, as well as giving it those good old fashioned red-eyes that indicate it's evil now. Blondie - a Nazi if ever I saw one - is joined by three costumed people, we're finally getting our first real look at members of the "mysterious organization" that Giovanni was always talking about. It's Team Plasma, who watch the torture of the Galvantula with satisfaction, saying that soon they will have the strength to achieve their goals. Dr. Pokémengele doesn't care about any of that though, he's doing "science" for its own sake, he wants to reveal the true power potential of Pokémon. This is freaky stuff, just what is....

The twerps are almost to Floccesy Town on their way to the White Ruins, Cilan telling them that the town has a ranch and Iris saying she wants to check it out. They're interrupted by three red-eyed Amoonguss who come up behind them and blast attacks at them, causing them to duck. The twerps can't understand why wild Pokémon would just attack them out of nowhere (well, on the open road at least) and Iris and Axew seem particularly miffed about it, Axew throwing a little tantrum slapping his paw up and down in agreement with Iris.

Ash takes a more proactive, aggressive stance and has Pikachu blast them with Thunderbolt, knocking them down and clearing the redness from their eyes. The twerps are immediately straddling the phallic Pokémon, apologising for beating them into unconsciousness and deciding to get them to Floccesy Town's Pokémon Center. When they arrive, however, they find the waiting room overflowing with troubled trainers (adults, kids, parents etc) and their Pokémon. Nurse Joy and Audino are overworked dealing with it all, and then the twerps show up with their oversized penises looking for help. Joy cups them, feels them and says they're not bad (size isn't everything) so they can just lay down and wait to get her attention. She heads off and Officer Jenny arrives on the scene, actually being competent for a change as she lets the twerps in on exactly what is going on. Wild Pokémon have been coming down out of the forest and attacking people in town, something the twerps find hard to believe even after being attacked themselves.

Jenny admits she has no idea what is happening, and further harms her competence (but proves her honesty) by admitting that some trainers have been helping out fighting off these Pokémon - it seems most of the Pokémon waiting to be treated are wild ones brought in by their victims. Finally one of the locals actually decides not to be a useless pile of unthinking shit and casually mentions he's seen strangers hanging around up in the forest recently, up near the old abandoned observatory.

This... this would have been handy information to have at ANY POINT BEFORE THIS!

Jenny wants to go check it out but is distracted by a fat cowboy looking dude rushing in to let her know a Bouffalant is running wild now. She heads off to deal with it, leaving behind the twerps to consider this new information and take it upon themselves - of course - to go investigate. As they excitedly discuss this, they're listened in on through a laser-mic outside the window by a VERY smug looking Jesse and James.

They plan to take advantage of the three children going unescorted up to a creepy old abandoned building in the middle of nowhere and get their sweet, innocent, tender.... Pikachu! But they're not the only ones keen on following the twerps, who are more subtly followed after they leave the Pokémon Center by a thickly bearded hiker, the type who looks likely to want to hear Ash's impersonation of a Tepig, if you catch my drift.

My drift being gay anal rape.

The Galvantula is still being zapped with electricity, and two of the Plasma Grunts are astonished by the scientific discovery that electrocuting the fuck out of something will make that thing hate you. The female Plasma Agent - clearly the leader of this group - is impressed, but Dr. Pokémengele upsets her by then turning down the power and feeding something through the attachment on Galvantula's head that calms it down.... and knocks it out. That was unexpected, and Dr. Pokémengele calmly notes that he'll have to do more testing with the next subject. Galvantula is swapped out for a Beartic, and overloads its mind with an electro-magnetic wave to increase its aggression and raise its attack power. His theory is without flaw, according to him - the theory being that pissing things off makes them angry!

The twerps have stopped on their way up to the observatory to enjoy the sun and fresh air. They're approached by the hiker from the Pokémon Center who jovially asks if they're headed up to the observatory and then cheerfully suggests they don't. Just then a strange noise sounds, and to the twerps' horror Axew and Pikachu are affected, turning in red-eyed anger on them!

Joined by some wild Pokémon in their rage, they all attack the twerps, protected by a dive from the hiker who takes the brunt of the attack. Ash calls out to Pikachu but the hiker tells them that the Pokémon can't hear them, even if they are best friends. He throws out a cube and rotor-blades emerge from it, blasting a beam of light into the air that covers them all with a dome of light. The redness fades from the Pokémon’s eyes, and while the wild Pokémon head off happily, Pikachu and Axew are reunited with a relieved Ash and Iris. The hiker explains that he's put up an EM Wave shield, and then reveals that he knows Ash's name. Ash has no idea who he is though, so the man pulls off his costume to reveal.... HOLY FUCK IT'S LOOKER!

IT'S MOTHERFUCKING LOOKER!

Yes the International Police agent, Looker, though Cilan and Iris have no idea who the fuck that is. He settles down with them to explain what he's up to, investigating an organisation called Team Plasma. He admits he doesn't know much about them or their operatives beyond the fact they want to rule the Unova Region, but he does know they're behind the Wild Pokémon attacks recently, the results of experiments with EM Waves.

The Wave Shield apparently senses the lack of further EM Waves and shuts down, and Looker prepares to get going and continue his investigation. Ash and Pikachu want to come along though, and he admits that he could use the help - this is incredibly irresponsible but at least Looker has a history of seeing what Ash can do - so the twerps are invited along. They head on up, watched from the bushes by an intrigued Team Rocket. The International Police clashing with Team Plasma is interesting, but what's moreso is the use of the EM Waves to enrage Pokémon. They can use that, though this Team Rocket is less overreaching than they were in the past, they mean to use it as a distraction to get their hands on Pikachu. From behind them they hear Meowth complaining, they've restrained him in a metal collar that surrounds his chest and pins his arms to his sides. It seems the intelligent, communicative Meowth is just as much a victim of the EM Waves as any other Pokémon, he used Fury Swipes on Jesse when the waves were running and she doesn't want to risk any more damage to "my beautiful face". Meowth insists that he didn't attack her, or at least he doesn't remember doing so, and says that he's clearly being framed. Not unkindly, James tells the offended little scratch-cat that they won't have to keep him restrained for too much longer.

The Beartic is freaking out from the EM Waves, passing out as Dr. Pokémengele revels in his genius - his readings show that Beartic's attack power is now through the roof. He's interrupted by the holographic transmission of Team Plasma's leader - Ghetsis. Green-haired with terrible hair-horns and a red electronic eye-patch, he asks for a progress report from Dr. Pokémengele... whose name turns out to be the far less dramatic Dr. Colress. Colress says the test subjects are responding well, flashing to shots of the KO'ed test subjects. Ghetsis starts to rave in a quiet but passionate way about their plans coming to fruition, and Colress actually demonstrates his arrogance extends even to his Boss, essentially telling him to calm the fuck down and not get ahead of himself - they're still at the experimental phase. An alert sounds and floating screens show them the twerps and Looker approaching, the latter apparently recognised by the female Plasma Agent - Angie. Ghetsis instructs them to send out Beartic to fight them, an idea Colress approves of, keen to see how Beartic's increased attack power works out.

You know... I think this dude might be a bit of a dick!

But since Beartic is still passed out, Colress notes to Angie that they need some time and she takes her grunts to slow Looker down. They rush away, Colress smirking, while outside Looker and the twerps arrive just in time for Ash to run headfirst into a Golbat and a Magnemite, commanded by a trio in costume. Ash surprisingly guesses they're from Team Plasma straight away and Looker is surprised to hear they're there by the express order of Lord Ghetsis - apparently the identity of the MYSTERIOUS ORGANISATION's boss isn't such a mystery.

Golbat and Magnemite attack but their moves are countered by Pikachu and Axew, but this is all a holding action, Angie having them continue to fight till enough time has passed, at which point they retreat into the observatory. Looker and the twerps follow them right into the trap, meeting Colress who Looker mistakenly believes to be Ghetsis - apparently the NAME is known but the face is not, and Colress has to correct him. Ash demands to know what they're doing and Cilan shouts that they're responsible for the mountain Pokémon’s pain. Colress smirks that he thinks of them as test subject rejects, and they are irrelevant. Snapping his fingers, the lights turn on to reveal the successful test subjects - Galvantula, Beartic, Scolipede and Mienshao.

They prepare to attack on Angie's command and Looker realises that this is what Colress' experiments were about. The Pokémon attack, the twerps dodging while Ash yells to them to stop fighting. Team Plasma laugh, the Pokémon can't hear them and won't listen, they've been put into hyper-aggressive mode towards humans (but presumably not Team Plasma) and simply attack mindlessly. Pikachu and Axew block the attacks and use teamwork to knock back Mienshao, surprising the Plasma Grunts who assumed the increased attack power of their thralls would prove superior. Colress is delighted though, noting that the trainers have brought out an intensity in their Pokémon and looking at a way to use that for his own benefit. He fires one of the cranial attachments at Pikachu, locking onto his forehead before the EM Wave fires up again to take control - like Team Rocket in the past, Colress has picked up on Pikachu's power and he wants it for himself. Looker tries to save the day by using his EM Wave Shield again, but so close to the source it is overwhelmed and burns out, while Pikachu is left with horrifically red, hollow eyes designed to give children nightmares.

Pikachu turns angrily on Ash and listens to Angie's commands, using Electro-Ball and knocking the twerps back. Ash doesn't want to fight his buddy though, pleading with his best friend while a pleased Colress ramps up the EM Wave, believing he has finally found the perfect subject. With contempt, Angie says he's wasting his time and orders Pikachu to attack again, but Ash continues to cry out to his friend as Pikachu fights against the overwhelming mental control and... the cranial attachment explodes!

Pikachu is in control of his own mind again, his resistance (and response to Ash's pleading) to the overwhelming attempts to control him having burned the device out. Colress is delighted, wanting to know the source of this great power (it's called love you heartless Mengele wannabe!) but Angie is all business, they don't have time to investigate so just sic Beartic on them.

Before the twerps can be raped to death, however, a remote camera lands on Colress' control panel and wires slip out, taking over of the controls and flooding the system (and downloading the contents of his research?). For the first time Colress looks upset, freaking out as he realises he has been hacked. By who? The windows appearing all over the screen bear a familiar looking R - Team Rocket did something competent AND saved the day AND weren't mindlessly boring generic menaces while doing it!

The panel explodes in Colress' face as he tries to prevent it from happening, and the remote camera floats back up to the opening in the observatory roof to reveal the unlikely saviours. Angie doesn't know who they are, so Jesse and James are only happy to introduce themselves.

"Prepare for trouble, you know the drill!"
And make it double, you'll get your fill!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite the people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"It's Jesse!"
"And James!"
"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth, dat's right!" cries Meowth, still in his restraints, but after leaping up to join them, Jesse and James happily rip the restraints away - Meowth isn't a potential liability any longer.

Angie does recognise the name at least - these are Kanto villains! Why are they hear? Because Unova villains are too stupid to take over Unova, Jesse quips, and they depart safely for once in their Happy Buddha Face Meowth Balloon, noting that now they have Colress' research they can use it to eventually capture Pikachu.

With them gone, Colress notes he has his research backed up and there is no longer anything there for them, so they should leave. Looker and the twerps try to give chase, but notice that the self-destruct for the observatory has been activated, they only have a couple of minutes to save the confused Galvantula, Beartic, Scolipede and Mienshao. Rushing them outside, the observatory explodes quite impressively and Looker realises that all proof of their experiments has been taken with it.

Team Rocket turn out not to get off so easily either, as they float serenely away in their low-tech balloon, their radar picks up Team Plasma and their high-tech jet quickly approaching. A missile is fired at the horrified Team Rocket, their balloon blown up and them sent blasting off again... and this time they even shout out that,"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!"

Welcome back, Team Rocket :)

At the Pokémon Center in town, Pikachu and Axew are given a clean bill of health by Nurse Joy who tells them that all of the Pokémon are now feeling much better. Looker is filling in Officer Jenny on what went down, and asks if he can rely on her help as the International Police continue their investigation. She assures him they can (in that she won't ACTIVELY get in the way) and Looker prepares to leave.

Before he goes he says his goodbyes to the twerps, saying it's nice to know he can count on all of them when before he only knew he could rely on Ash and Pikachu for certain. He heads off resolutely, seeming wishing "Best fishes!" to Cilan who wished him "Best wishes!" although maybe I just need my ears checked out. He's an odd, funny-looking dude but Looker is a go-getter, and hopefully we'll see more of him soon. That's a story for another day, though, for now this story is...
