94: Tracey Gets Bugged | ||||||||
Dodgy
Synopsis
Lapras, you Lapras. Ash thinks Tracey seems psyched, psyched Ash? Is the Island dope? Does it be jamming? Getting back to Pokemon's roots, Misty remembers she's scared of bugs (she didn't seem to have a problem back in Bye Bye Butterfree) and claims she's going to work on her tan (or maybe, if we're lucky, try to abandon Togepi). In a strange role reversal, it's Ash who is tactful and Tracey who is stupid in this next scene. The emotionally crippled ten year old whispers to Tracey that Misty is scared of bugs and Tracey laughingly jokes that she must be chicken. Misty steps on his foot and growls at the fatty bombastic, break his elastic chubbo (Grrr, Tim!) who quickly makes a lame cover-up. Walking through the woods, Misty sidles closer to Ash for comfort, just like after they first met. If Ash was smart he'd let them fall behind Tracey at this point and then fake a yawn, slide his arm around her waist and get freaky. But the boy ain't smart, is he. Spotting a Caterpie, Ash excitedly rushes to capture one, but Misty quickly stops him. Thank goodness for that, we'd rather not face the horrors of Butterfree again anytime soon. Dragging Ash towards the bushes to do who knows what with him, Tracey's Venonat warns them that something is hiding there. It's a Pinsir, and it quickly puts paid to any ideas Misty had for some sweet, sweet loving. She runs away in fright, Ash flopping in the wind behind her like a rag doll. They then discover a weakened Scyther, which Ash bravely decides to fight in order to impress Misty. Sensing how embarrassing it will be for Ash to get his ass handed to him by a half dead bug, Tracey instead uses his Venonat to put it to sleep and catches it for himself, the three then rushing for the nearest Pokemon Centre. Cutting to The Meowth Balloon (HOORAY!) we hear some wacky Team Rocket music and James put on a dark, mysterious voice for no apparent reason. Attacked by a kamikaze Beedrill which is obviously offended in some way by The Meowth Balloon, they fall to the ground far below and lay bruised and battered. They eye the surrounding bugs with surprise, there's a Paras, A Caterpie and even a very eager Metapod which is chatting away at quite a reasonable pace for such a usually silent type. Suddenly a swarm of Scyther appear and the leader charges our beloved Team Rocket and swings wildly....... Meanwhile, back at The Pokemon Centre, Ash and Misty note how pissed off Scyther is. Nurse Joy notes it's angry because it's harem has been taken away by a younger Scyther and now it can't have freaky Scyther sex any more..... or words to that effect. Going to his Daddy for advice, the usually horny, distracted Professor Oak actually has some good advice for Ash and explains that the Scyther's dignity has been taken away and it needs to get it back somehow. Meanwhile, back in the forest.... Oh no! NO! NOOOOOO! Jesse's hair! Her beautiful hair! James and Meowth stare in shock at their friend, the three of them having just escaped The Scyther. Meowth's eyes are huge! Checking a mirror and seeing the hack job done on her beautiful, beautiful hair, Jesse is ready to go and fight all those Scyther hand to blade all by herself. And you know what, she'd probably win, too! James and Meowth convince her to capture them instead, so that they can, as James says, take revenge on Jesse's haircut, as well as get in good with the boss. Poor James, seeing that hairstyle he probably styled for Jesse himself cut would almost be like a physical wound to her. Jesse agrees, then takes off to get them again. James and Meowth tackle her (!) which is never a good idea, as the two of them can only overpower the freakishly strong woman for so long. James appeals to her sense of style by putting forth the prospect of her getting a crew cut. This is Jesse's worst nightmare, of course, and she finally agrees to calm down. Meanwhile, back in The Pokemon Centre.... Ash comes up with the unusually good idea of getting Scyther healthy again and then re-challanging for the right to pimp all those fine Scyther ho's. It's obvious he's learned a lot from his other Mother, Brock, and Misty even almost compliments the poor, love starved boy. Jesse, James and Meowth are watching The Scyther Swarm bathing (dirty ol' Team Rocket) and Meowth pulls a bazooka out from... well, from somewhere, anyway. Jesse blasts the Scyther Swarm with the glue bazooka, capturing them and chuckling with satisfaction, quipping that it serves them right for getting snippy with her. Boy, she should be PUN-ished, as Meowth has said from time to time. Back at The Pokemon Centre, Tracey's Scyther senses the capture of it's former Harem and in a move Action Hero Ash would be proud of, it causes some massive property damage by leaping out of the strategically placed window. It flings a helpful Tracey away and flies off. Ash notes that it doesn't stand a chance of defeating the other Scyther in it's present state and then says that he 'can't miss this' and rushes off to see. Emotionally crippled, voyeuristic little boy. Tracey and Misty rush off after Ash and Nurse Joy says nothing, but Misty cries out,"We will!" anyway. Hmmmm? Back with the Harem, Jesse is poking the captured Scyther with a stick, chuckling evilly as she does so. James and Meowth are frightened, James noting that Jesse is scary. It gets messy when you mess with Jesse, Meowth agrees. In a spotlight usually reserved for James, Jesse wails that her resplendent hair has been robbed from her. "Resplendent?" asks James. "She must mean big" whispers Meowth. Jesse tells how as a child her hair was her only companion, and she starts to cry. Our hearts begins to break, tears begin to well up in our eyes and we stretch out an arm towards the t.v screen in a vain attempt to comfort her.... and then she turns and her face is pure evil! Dark, sinister with shadows, a wicked grin and slitted eyes! Tim fell of his chair at that point with an arrgh! Ash would have been proud of. The twerps arrive at that point and promptly make the very, very large mistake of laughing at her. She immediately starts up the Team Rocket motto, but with a difference. Jesse : Prepare for trouble Laughing James : It used to be there but now it's stubble! Angry Jesse : To protect my head from humiliation. Laughing James : She had hair but now it's on vacation. Angry Jesse : My gorgeous hair was my ONE TRUE LOVE! * Laughing James : They went together like a hand in glove. Jesse James Angry Jesse : Now my hairs short but it won't be for long Laughing James : And it won't stop our Jesse from doing what's wrong! Meowth : Hairy! * - (Her hair was her one true love! Hey, hear that Rocketshippers, one true love! Her hair! Her hair was her one true love! Don't you think if the mad concept of JJ love was true that James wouldn't have protested at this point?) During the motto you may notice that Jesse and James' hair now matches! Tracey's Scyther arrives and frighten Team Rocket until they realise how old it is. Meowth calls it Buggy and James comments that it's over the hill. When Pikachu prepares to help Scyther, it stops him, wanting to fight itself. Meowth translates for us, of course, and when James hears that it plans to fight them singlehanded he excitedly exclaims (and not in a sarcastic way) : "Ooooh! How inspiring!" Ash, as always, doesn't get it and tries to get Pikachu to fight, but Chubbo stops him and explains that Scyther needs to fight by itself. Team Rocket's Pokemon attack, VictreeBell getting a good pash from Lickitung. Scyther gets progressively more tired but with help from it's rival pimp it uses it's most powerful attack, which appears to be to apply band aids to the other Pokemon. Okay, it's a kids show after all. Scyther then attacks Jesse and James' beautiful hair, giving them mohawks! (Hey, check out Lex's Prank Series in the Fan-Art section, she did those way before this episode was screened!) and cutting a strip right down the centre of Meowth's face. Team Rocket dash off again and Pimp Scyther and his ho's get back into the pool to bath once again. Tracey recalls his Scyther and strikes a stock pose, but Ash is disappointed and in a vain attempt to be like Brock (in all likelihood to impress Misty) tries to teach Tracey how to more accurately portray a stock pose. Misty tiredly murmurs, "Not another Ash," but then sits and watches the boys posing and flexing for her. Not a bad life, in all.
