268: Playing with Fire! |
Dodgy Synopsis
Yes he finally broke his record of a Top 16 finish in the Indigo League as he made it to round two of the Johto Silver Conference. But now he has to face Harrison and his bizarre Hoenn Pokemon. He's going to be.... Playing With Fire! Ash faces Harrison on a Grass Field with his Pikachu against Harrison's Kecleon. The odd, chameleon looking Pokemon can apparently ALMOST camouflage itself perfectly, all except for the red zig-zag pattern on its belly. Ash warns Pikachu to be on the look-out, while in the crowd Professor Oak notes to Delia that if Ash wins this, he'll be in the Top Four of the Silver Conference. Pikachu spots Kecleon hiding in the grass and tries a Quick Attack, but Kecleon dodges and disappears into the grass. Ash yells out to Pikachu to listen for the sound of Kecleon rustling through the grass, and then it zooms forward and..... Kecleon licks it! Pikachu stumbled back in a horrified daze after taking this surprise tonguing (Brock should take notes) and then Kecleon wraps its tongue around Pikachu (ahh Japan) and tosses it into the air. Pikachu lands and Kecleon zips about it to keep Pikachu confused, then fires of a Psybeam. Pikachu clears its head and dodges into the grass, and Kecleon starts spinning in circles, its tongue spinning about and cutting the grass! These are strange times we live in, Gentle Dodgers. But then suddenly it stops, and we soon discover why. Pikachu has..... grabbed Kecleon's tongue in its hands! Pikachu lets rip with a powerful Thunderbolt and Kecleon collapses to the ground.... Ash wins the first fight! Brock and Misty are impressed, and watching from the stands, even Gary seems impressed. Pikachu flexes its biceps proudly and Ash laughs that it can stick around for the next fight too, and in comes.... Sneasel! Yes it's the cat that Harrison caught a few episodes back, and it quickly dodges a Thunderbolt from Pikachu and smashes into the little rodent with Metal Claw and... knocks Pikachu out with one shot! Woah! What the hell!?! Ash picks Pikachu up and carries it back to Misty and Brock after assuring himself it is okay, and then leaves it between Togepi and Politoed, which might as well be punishing the poor thing. Returning to the field, Ash calls out Totodile which dances with insane pleasure because that grass will tickle your chin if you sniff it! Totodile fires a Water Gun at Sneasel which easily dodges, then comes forward with a swinging Metal Claw and.... Totodile bites down on its hand and then dances with delight, bouncing a horrified Sneasel up and down before finishing things off with a harsh blow. Harrison recalls Sneasel and then replaces it with a Pokemon not noted for its great speed.... Hypno! Yes the slow, sleepy looking Pokemon waddles into place and simply stares blankly at Totodile as it tries to use Leer. Then it quickly drops Totodile into a hypnotic trance, before lifting it into the air with Psychic and tossing it directly across the field, knocking it out. So how to fight a slow, highly resistant Pokemon like Hypno? With an enormous fatass of course! Ash calls out Snorlax which appears.... sleeping! Brock notes to Misty that at least it can't be hypnotised if it is asleep, but then Hypno uses Dream Eater, absorbing a shitload of energy from the sleeping Snorlax as Ash screams at it to wake up.... and then Snorlax stumbles grumpily to its feet and glares angrily at Hypno, all but outright saying, "What motherfuck just woke me up!?!" HYPERBEAM! Needless to say, Hypno is out and Harrison is down three Pokemon, and as Snorlax flexes its own fat biceps, the announcer calls for the intermission. Ash giggles to Misty and Brock that he thinks he is going to win, but they warn him not to get ahead of himself, and he looks up at the stand to Gary and thinks to himself that he WILL make his older nephew proud. Meanwhile Team Rocket is building a... Building! Yes they're going to have their own warehouse! The intermission over, Ash calls out Noctowl against Harrison's Steelix! Noctowl tries using Confusion, blasting the field with a wave of energy, but Steelix fires up a sandstorm and then slams into Noctowl, growing horrifically because it's a goddamn monster! Noctowl tries to use Hypnosis, but Steelix attacks it with an Iron Tail, knocking it out! So suddenly it is down to only 3 Pokemon each, and Ash decides to fight strength with strength by calling out Snorlax again. Snorlax starts off with a Hyper Beam, but Steelix quickly dodges it and uses Wrap on the fat Pokemon before going for the kill.... only for Snorlax to punch it directly in the face with Ice Punch and then follows up with a Hyper Beam and knocks it out! Harrison is impressed, now he's down to only two Pokemon, and he sends out Houndoom to try and even things back up. Snorlax instantly fires off a Hyper Beam, but Houndoom uses.... Counter! The Hyper Beam is turned back on Snorlax at twice the original power and knocks Snorlax the fuck out! Brock is surprised; pointing out to Misty that Harrison uses an odd collection of Pokemon with strange abilities. So now Ash only has two Pokemon too, so he calls out.... Bayleef!?!? Everyone is surprised and some are disappointed, has Ash chosen the order of his Pokemon badly? Why call out a Grass Type against a Fire Type Ash then takes out Bayleef, which surprised everyone. A grass type against a Fire Type? Bayleef starts out with Razor Leaf, but Houndoom easily burns them up with Flamethrower, so Ash tries the direct approach by sending Bayleef in with Head butt, and Houndoom gets ready to lunge in and bite down on Bayleef.... but it seems this is what Ash was hoping for. Using Vine Whip, Bayleef grabs Houndoom around the muzzle and slaps its mouth shut, blocking it from using Flamethrower as Bayleef lifts the dog-like Pokemon up and then smashes it against the ground, knocking it out! Don't mess with a sista, stoopid! So Harrison is down to one Pokemon against Ash's two now, but WHAT a Pokemon it is.... Blaziken! Professor Oak is impressed to see the evolved Hoenn Pokemon, while Ash checks it out with his now updated Pokedex and Brock points out to Misty that once again Bayleef has to face off against a Fire Type. Bayleef tries a Razor Leaf again, but almost contemptuously Blaziken uses a quick series of kicks to cut them up! Holy shit, it didn't even use fire, just speed and strength! Ash decides to keep Bayleef distant, and orders Vine Whip.... and Blaziken snatches the vines out of the sky and hauls Bayleef in towards it. Still trying to turn things to his advantage, Ash yells at Bayleef to go with the flow, leap forward and hit Blaziken with a Body slam, but as it flies forward, Blaziken is waiting and lets rip with a harsh Fire Punch, knocking Bayleef right out! Everyone is shocked at how easily Blaziken knocked Bayleef out, and now Ash is down to only one Pokemon against Harrison's one Pokemon. But Harrison's one Pokemon is powerful, fast and full of fire.... what Pokemon does Ash have that can possibly deal with that? MOTHERFUCKING CHARIZARD!
