566: Jumping Rocket Ship!    571: Kosen Konran Mio Shiti!    Meowth Mix-Up           Team Rocket and the twerps' Pokémon get mixed up    A team through good, bad and ugly times     Small dreams are happy dreams :)

Today finds the twerps riding in a blimp! That always works out well for them!

They're on their way to Canalave Gym, where Ash hopes to gain his sixth badge. With them is recently acquired "rival" Barry coming along for the ride on his way to Iron Island, where he wants to get in some power training ahead of his next attempt at Fantina's Relic Badge. He's incredibly impatient due to the slow nature of the blimp and the twerps try to get him to come and check out the view of a series of islands, all connected by bridges to make up Canalave City.

So they're already at the city of the next Gym, maybe Ash will get his sixth badge right quick!?!

Hahaha, of course he won't, something will get in the way, they'll soon be....

With the blimp landed, the twerps disembark to discover a very familiar looking duo - a man and woman with blue and red hair - waiting to take a photo of them and all of their Pokémon. The twerps are delighted (and non-suspicious!) but Barry thinks it is a waste of time. The twerps try to convince him to relax but he complains they're relaxing too much, but does agree to bring out Empoleon. Meanwhile, Meowth and the rest of Team Rocket's Pokémon are eating what's left of the blimp's in-flight meals, Meowth TOTALLY FURIOUS as he gobbles it up. With everyone lined up, the man and woman ask the twerps to back up a little.... little more.... little more.... now move to the right.... right right right...... PERFECT!

Seriously, how dumb are they?

James (yes, gasp, it was Jesse and James all along!) hits a button on his "camera" and it fires a net over the Pokémon, which struggle against the attempt to drag them away. The twerps drag themselves out of the hole as Jesse tears off her clothes (hooray!) and they're into the motto early on!

"I'd say... the picture's getting much clearer all the time!" starts Jesse as her and James Pokémon pose behind her.... but then the motto is IMMEDIATELY cut off by Barry. He doesn't bother to wait, ordering a Hydro-Pump from Empoleon. Ash orders a Flamethrower from Chimchar and Team Rocket fire back with their Pokémon, and the resulting explosion sends someone blasting off..... the Pokémon!

All the Pokémon! Yes Gentle Dodgers, it is going to be one of those episodes!

Jesse instantly sees potential, whoever finds the Pokémon first gets to keep them! (the Pokémon might have something to say about this) and so she and James take off, the twerps following quickly after.

Elsewhere, Pikachu and Pachirisu have landed and are recovering alongside Mime Jr. and, of course, Meowth. Oh dear! Meowth oozes on the charm (mimed by Mime Jr.) and calls for a ceasefire, thinking that if he can get them all to Jesse and James then.... that will be good!

Elsewhere, Empoleon, Piplup, Happiny and Grotle are in a group together, with Piplup proudly giving instructions for which way to go and the others kind of shrugging and following along. Meanwhile Barry and Ash are arguing over whose fault it is they fell for such a stupid trick (well, Ash really has no excuse, pitfalls are still a novelty to Barry) when they spot Staravia and Gliscor, the latter of which crash lands directly onto Ash. As they celebrate, Dawn spots Team Rocket in their Happy Buddha Face Meowth Balloon while the camera tries to figure out a way not to look directly up her skirt. They send Staravia up to follow Jesse and James, but James rather suspiciously has a pre-prepared solution for this!

A Whore Bird Lure!

That's.... creepy!

Staravia flies off after the scent of the fake, so Ash sends up Gliscor and Jesse confidently tells James to "play cupid" again..... and he is at a loss! Sure, have a pre-prepared whored up model of a Staravia along with an aphrodisiac perfume is not a problem, but have something similar prepared for a Gliscor? That's just crazy talk!

It X-Scissor's the balloon and sends it plummeting into the water below, and behind them a gondola sails serenely by with..... Croagunk hanging out at the front! Further into the city, Piplup has proudly lead the others directly into the dead end of an alley, so it quickly rushes back out and angrily insists the others stop staring at that dead end wall and follow it!

Meanwhile, an exhausted Meowth is wondering if Jesse and James are just sitting around twiddling their thumbs while he walks the twerps out of the forest towards the city. Pikachu gets in his face so he sits them all down to recount a tale of all the blast-offs he has suffered through and how he is tired of the pain (but not tired of remembering Jesse in a bikini!) so he wants to make a clean start! As they all leap about celebrating this obvious lie, a rowboat sails serenely down the river behind them with Croagunk squatting serenely at the front..... and Staravia is trying to mack on the now landed model bird lure.

The twerps meanwhile have gotten turned around trying to find their way onto the many bridges between the islands making up the city. As they search, they run into a bunch of the other Pokémon that the writers couldn't be bothered coming up with a subplot for - Chimchar, Ambipom, Buneary, Sudowoodo, Buizel and Buneary.

Barry tries to take credit for finding them before realising Empoleon isn't there. While elsewhere, Jesse and James have found a dead-end alley, but quickly cheer up when they are reunited with Seviper, Wobbuffet and Carnivine, and Jesse.... hugs Wobbuffet!

Awwww.....

DAWWWWWW!

Meanwhile, Piplup has once again lead its group into a dead-end, and now Empoleon is beginning to lose a little patience with its diminutive leader. In dismay Piplup allows Empoleon to go on ahead of the rest, Happiny carrying a somewhat embarrassed Grotle easily in one hand.

The twerps and Barry spot Pikachu, Meowth, Pachirisu and Mime Jr. and Barry rapidly insists HE found them till he realises once again that Empoleon isn't there with them. They call out to the Pokémon and Meowth and Mime Jr. are horrified till Jesse and James spot them from a different direction and everyone rushes to get to the Pokémon first, while Meowth tries to convince Pikachu and Pachirisu that he and Mime Jr. aren't happy to see Jesse and James. Meanwhile a logging boat sails serenely up the river with.... Croagunk squatting at the front!

As everyone struggles around the confusing confines of the city, Meowth realises they have to keep moving so they can find Jesse and James and not be found by the twerps. He convinces Pikachu they have to keep going so Team Rocket doesn’t find them and they rush into the bushes as a speedboat zips quickly by with.... Croagunk squatting at the back!

The twerps arrive where the Pokémon were only moments ago, and then Jesse and James arrive, all of them shocked to see the others and confused as to where the Pokémon are. They face off, Jesse blowing raspberries at them while James "calls" the Pokémon for him and Jesse, and "no tag backs!"

Meanwhile, Empoleon has lead the group.... into a dead end! Luckily the twerps come by and they're quickly reunited, meaning only Pikachu and Pachirisu are missing now. That particular group is walking through the city streets when Pikachu hears Ash and Barry arguing and leads them back to rejoin them, and alls well that ends well..... halfway through the episode!?!

Meowth and Mime Jr. come over and insist that they helped (well, Meowth insists, Mime Jr. is just going along with everything as per normal) and a short time later they're all settled in for lunch as Meowth tells the sad tale of a life of indentured servitude!

Everyone - twerps and Pokémon included - all seem to take this at face value.... except for Barry who looks less than convinced. Maybe he's not as dumb as we thought! Pachirisu reminds Dawn they haven't eaten so they're soon all feeding their faces, as Meowth realises that if he actually DID dump Team Rocket maybe he could get some proper food and actually build up into a strong Pokémon! Barry, again displaying intelligence we wouldn't have credited him with, reminds Meowth that as a TALKING POKEMON HOLY SHIT THAT POKEMON CAN TALK! he could probably have his choice of trainer, and Dawn suggests he could be famous. For Meowth, this means only one thing - being an infomercial hack!

Small dreams are happy dreams :)

Dawn tells him she knows the host of Sinnoh Now and they decide to go try and make contact, which will enable them to try and find out if anyone has seen Staravia or Croagunk.

Oh yeah, that's right, they AREN'T all reunited yet! But they're sitting around calmly eating lunch and giving no fuck!

Speaking of no fuck, Staravia is still pouring out its heart to the crashed Staravia model, which gets blown into the river by a loose gust of wind, the lack of scent instantly clearing its head and leaving it confused.

The twerps arrive at the Pokémon Centre and walk.... into a pit trap! The doors open and out step... Team Rocket!

"There's nothing like a hole to help us get what we need," says Jesse, setting back feminism by 25 years.
"It surely caused you twerps to pay heed!"
"On the wind!"
"Past the stars!"
"-----" silence follows, and a confused Jesse and James stare down at the Meowth outline flashing beside them... why isn't Meowth joining them in the motto? They look over and see Meowth and Mime Jr. climbing out of the hole, and Mime Jr. rushes with delight to rejoin James. Barry and Ash happily inform them that Meowth doesn't want to hang with them anymore!

Oh nice, real tactful, guys!

It kicks off a brawl, with Seviper biting Empoleon's fin while Mime Jr. makes Buizel Teeter Dance (HEY! THE BUIZELSTER WASN'T MADE TO DANCE! THE BUIZELSTER JUST HAPPENED TO FEEL LIKE DANCING AT THE SAME TIME, BROTHER!) and Seviper knocks it back with Poison Tail. This clears Buizel's head though, and allows it to enter Jesse in a wet t-shirt contest.

Hooray!

But as Jesse and James are smashed back by attacks, including a Sonic Boom, Meowth starts to see things in a whole new (dramatically lit!) light. He starts to remember good times, not so good times, tough times, rough times, sad times, bucket-headed bad times and more weird times he can shake a stick at! But blast off after blast off it's always been all for one! So in reaction, Meowth....... STARTS KICKING ASS!

He headbutts Ash, kicks Barry in the throat, Fury Swipes Empoleon and then prepares to use Night Slash before remembering that he is still working on learning it! Empoleon goes down anyway though, and Meowth insists to the twerps that the whole thing was an act, he never intended to leave Team Rocket! Honest! The twerps are disappointed but take him at his word even as his heart practically bursts out of his chest over the opportunity he is leaving behind. The twerps blast them all off together, Meowth delighted because at least, blasting off or not, they're all together again! Even if they will end the episode fighting angrily over the last Poffin that Meowth saved from his lunch with the twerps!

Staravia flaps back in to safety and Brock notes that only Croagunk is left now..... and then spots a pretty girl! He rushes over to her side to proclaim his undying (15 minutes at best) love (lust), only for Croagunk to appear from nowhere and punch him hard in the ass, then drag him off elsewhere.... for who knows what nefarious purpose!

With the Pokémon returned and Croagunk creepily appearing from the shadows to jab Brock's ass and drag him off into a dark alley, all is right with the world again. As the sun sets, the twerps say their goodbyes to Barry who is off to Iron Island to get in his training, while Ash will be heading for the Gym for his battle. They promise to meet again for a battle, and for the time being we say our goodbyes to Barry. But don't worry, he'll be back.

Too dumb to live, too stupid to die.
