MORAL LEARNT
557: Doc Brock!    562: Pachirisu o Netsu Desu! Futari de Orusuban!?    Ash and Dawn: Bad Trainers           Brock leaves Ash and Dawn to fend for themselves, chaos ensues    Fast falling down the tiers     Ash would be dead within a day if Brock wasn't around

The twerps continue on towards Celestic Town, but have stopped at a cabin for a rest - is it a cabin for travellers to make free use of or have they just broken in to the joint? - and Dawn is training for her contest while Ash and Pikachu try to think of a way to deal with Fantina and her Hypnosis.... and Ash falls asleep!

Oh Ash.

Pikachu wakes the dumbass up and Brock steps out with his backpack on, and Ash wonders where he is going. Brock seems confused that Ash doesn't know, thinking he told him he was heading down to a pharmacy at the base of the mountain to pick up some Pokémon medicine. Dawn does remember, so likely Ash either wasn't listening or just completely failed to comprehend what he was being told. Brock leaves Ash and Dawn his Pokémon and asks them to keep an eye on everything, then heads away saying goodbye (and though he's off-screen and NOTHING is made of it, makes a sound like he fell over....?)

Oh God Brock, leaving Ash and Dawn alone to fend for themselves? When he comes back he's ever going to find some dead bodies or Dawn will be pregnant. Either way, they're going to need....

Inside the cabin, Ash checks Brock's notes and discovers he has to give the Pokémon a shower, which Dawn thinks sounds fun.

Real party animal, that Dawn.

Turtwig and Piplup go first, Piplup being very proud of getting dried off with a towel, and then Ash almost kills Pachirisu using freezing water, and Dawn strips off Buneary right in front of Pikachu.

Shameless.

Dawn brushes Swinub while Ash fixes the water temperature, and shortly after all the Pokémon have been cleaned and dried off, and are feeling happy and clean..... or staring with creepy fixation into the mirror, fascinated by their own grotesque visage.

Meanwhile Team Rocket are bored floating over the forest in their Happy Buddha Face Meowth Balloon. Finally Jesse has had enough, so frustrated she is reduced to screaming out for "Pikachu and Pipsqueak" to come out, getting furious when James and Meowth point out this isn't a very effective strategy.

Dawn and Pikachu make pancakes, Dawn scarring Piplup for life by telling it not to bother helping them. Everyone chows down, Pachirisu wanting more pancakes, while Team Rocket land to have a meal of what Meowth enthusiastically calls "chips in a big boy bag!" But when they realise that each mouthful the other takes is one less mouthful for them, they all end up chowing down furiously.

Awww, and they only just recently dropped all that weight too!

As Jesse lays back and moans that she's "chipped out of her everloving tummy" and that Pokémon can "plop into what's left of her lap"..... (!).... back at the cabin the Pokémon are having a siesta while Ash tries to figure out a way to deal with Fantina's Hypnosis.... and ends up falling asleep again! Dawn angrily snaps him back awake and then Pikachu rushes to get them, and outside they find that Pachirisu is running a fever. Ash checks out a guidebook for the nearest Pokémon Centre but there isn't one nearby, and Ash comes up with a viable strategy to deal with what Brock normally does for them.

He decides to get Brock to deal with it!

Gliscor throws up a pincer to volunteer and Ash is immensely pleased with it, telling it this is great idea..... Staravia can find Brock!

Poor Gliscor.

Staravia heads off to track down Momma Brock, while Ash and Dawn try to figure out what to do to get Pachirisu's fever down, exposed as being completely incapable of existing out alone in the world without Brock to feed them, clothe them and wipe their butts (not Dawn's, he'll be arrested) for them.

Ash does figure out a way to make ice using Happiny and Buneary (and not the fridge!) and then Dawn and Ash resort to screaming blame at each other as their Pokémon watch uneasily. Dawn says Ash gave Pachirisu the fever with the cold water, he insists Pachirisu has an upset stomach from the pancakes, but when she retorts they ALL ate pancakes (the batter prepared by a RAT!) and only Pachirisu is sick, his only comeback is to say that she's not blaming him. Pachirisu moans and they momentarily forget about all this, while outside Staravia continues to fly searching for Brock, and Team Rocket spot..... ZAPDOS!?!

Yes the once highly coveted Pokémon that has taken a few tumbles down the tiers over the years is still a prize catch for Team Rocket considering they've been after a fat yellow rat for the last decade, and James has a brilliant plan... fire a bazooka at it!

A sticky fluid bursts from James' cannon (GETCHA MINDS OUTTA DA GUTTA!) and Zapdos easily dodges it. The fluid burst falls down in an arc and hits Staravia's wing, causing it to struggle as Team Rocket instantly forget about Zapdos and set their sights on catching the relatively common bird instead!

They know their limits!

Meanwhile Ash and Dawn are once again proving their complete incompetence at staying alive without Brock to rely on. They're trying to remember what kind of berry he would normally give a Pokémon in these circumstances. Dawn thinks it might be an Orin Berry, and they all head out (leaving Pachirisu behind!) to search, Ash patting down one particular tree only to cause himself even further embarrassment.

Oh Ash.

Pikachu finds some large blue apple looking berries, but Ash doesn't know if it is an Orin Berry or not, so Dawn has to explain to him it isn't.

Seriously, dude would be dead in a ditch in 10 minutes without someone else around.

Up in the balloon, Team Rocket are trying to find Staravia, Meowth suggesting that James scored a great hit with the Bazooka Bonk which causes Jesse to threaten (for no reason!) to "bonk him".

Chance would be a fine thing, right fellas?

On the ground, Staravia is trying to get its arm free, while back at the cabin, Ash has apparently been sent back because he's so goddamn useless. He is wondering where Staravia is, and Gliscor again offers to save the day and this time Ash actually understands, and heads with Dawn up a hill where Gliscor takes off and.... promptly flies headfirst into a tree.

Back at the cabin, Pachirisu seems to be getting worse and they need towels for it, and Pikachu and Turtwig show up with some, getting praise from Ash while Croagunk.... hides behind a screen with a towel of its own watching as they get praised before it got a chance to be the hero.... awww.

Brock is on his way back from the pharmacy stocked up with medicine when he spots Gliscor hurtling towards him. He tries to jump out of the way but Gliscor changes tack to try and keep on his path, ending in the inevitable as it crashes crotchfirst into his face.

It pantomimes being sick and Brock doesn't have a clue what the hell it is talking about until it starts to go all wobbly-eyed, which is apparently the universal symbol for "Hey Brock somebody's sick!".... or perhaps Brock just remembered that Ash had been left alone for longer than 10 minutes and the inevitable must have happened. They rush off together but Gliscor falls flat on its face, and Brock remembers it can't fly unless it has the wind at its back. He offers to carry it on his back and ends up in a very undignified position on his stomach with Gliscor lying on his back, with Brock suggesting that he "go on ahead".

At the cabin, Dawn has remembered being fed mashed fruit by her mother when she was very small and got sick, so she does this for Pachirisu now, just as Brock shows up, having left behind Gliscor. Ash insists he give Pachirisu medicine but he says they need to figure out what is wrong first, and suggests the best thing for it is to expose its tail. Dawn says she has never heard of this....

....Oh Dawn, coming from you that's rich....

....and opens its mouth and checks beneath its eyelids. He ponders that maybe Pachirisu has a high fever due to an electricity build-up, and Ash remembers when it happened to Pikachu, ironically enough the last time that Brock left Ash alone by itself. He applies some jumper leads he just happened to have on him (!) and burns off the excess electricity, gives it some medicine, and then soothes it to sleep because crossly telling Dawn and Ash that they needed to stay calm, panicking only makes things worse.

Dawn starts crying and says she is a terrible trainer, and Brock doesn't bother correcting her (haha!), and tells them that they should feed it mashed up fruit AFTER giving it an Orin Berry. They take him to where they found the other fruit, and he tells them the environment is wrong, checking the ground before leading them off what feels like at most a couple of dozen feet and pointing out the bushes full of Orin Berries just sitting right there in front of them.

Jesus they're a fucking menace to themselves.

Meanwhile, things aren't going so well for Staravia! It's rather unglamorous appearance is due to the sudden surfacing of three Wooper, which blast its wing to clear the gunk from its wing. Up in the air, Team Rocket have given up on trying to find Staravia and decided to just go back to stealing Pikachu, and just then they notice the cabin beneath them, the twerps visible through the open window.

Inside, Pachirisu is feeling better and jumps about in excitement on the couch, only for a net to suddenly wrap around it and pull it up into the sky. The twerps rush outside, only to discover.... heaven and hell?

Not quite, it's Team Rocket!

"To see what's going just look to the sky!"
"Not easy for twerps but give it a try!"
"On the wind... oooh!" cries Jesse as a heavy wind blows up.
"Past the stars... eeee!" grunts James as he is crushed between rocks (star rocks?).
"Hey I can flyyyyy!" screams Meowth, lifting high into the air.
"Bringing chaos at a breakneck pace!"
"Dashing hope, putting fear in its place."
"A rose by any other name's just as sweet."
"When everything's worse, our work is complete."
"Jesse!"
"And James!"
"Meowth's da name!"
"Putting the do-gooders in their place."
"We're Team Rocket!"
"In your face!" they finish together.

What that rather bizarre rendition of their motto later, they tell the twerps they're willing to "settle" for Pachirisu this time, annoying Dawn. Staravia returns and James thinks he can easily settle this with the Bazooka Bonk again, but Staravia uses Gust to blow it back and get sticky fluids all over their faces.

Oh like you wouldn't.

Pachirisu is knocked free by Aerial Ace, and wants to rumble, but Dawn thinks it is still recovering and instead has Buneary block up Team Rocket with Ice Beam, after which it.... well Team Rocket have gone from trying to catch a Zapdos to being encased in ice, terrified as they are menaced by the rainbow glowing ears of a ballerina bunny. Pachirisu insists it wants to 'ave a go though, so Dawn has it use Discharge (God that is so gross) and send Team Rocket blasting off again... covered in ice and gunk!

As the twerps celebrate though, Brock points out that this could happen again and they need to learn some basic first aid you goddamn kids Jesus Christ you're just stumbling your way through life like a pack of happy retards for fucks sake!

Dawn picks up Pachirisu and tells it that they're all it's got (is that a threat!?!), and Brock offers to make them all some food. Croagunk rather creepily happily beams at them all from inside through the window, while Ash says Pachirisu being hungry is sure sign it is feeling better, and they all head inside as the camera fades out and...

Oh shit! Ash intrudes back into frame, they forgot Gliscor!

Oh dear!
