MORAL LEARNT
689: Where Did You Go, Audino?    694: Somurie Tantei Dento! Tabunne Shisso Jiken!    Holmes vs Poirot                 The twerps help solve the mystery of the missing Audino    Their presence is felt before it is seen    Put in all the effort you want, some dumb 10 year old kid will get all the credit

Today finds the twerps moving through a foggy forest, not sure where they're going. Iris asks if they've lost their way and Cilan says he isn't sure they ever found it in the first place. Just then they see somebody appearing through the fog and ask if it can help them out and tell them where they are... only to discover that the person is a Pokémon, an Audino! It seems to be sleepwalking or in a trance, staring blankly at them and then walking on into the fog. The confused twerps watch it go, and then the fog lifts suddenly. They're relieved... until Officer Jenny and a couple of bratty looking kids show up and declare they're under arrest! Ash tries to take a step forward to ask what is going on and they panic, the nerdy kid having his Solosis use Psychic to lift the twerps and drop them down. Jenny declares the arrest has been made at 0900 hours.... the twerps are going to jail unless they can find out....

The twerps continue to insist they haven't done anything wrong, but Cilan knows what's up with Officer Jenny and how she operates. He explains he is a Gym Leader, leaving it unsaid that this makes him one of society's elite - above the law and to be given every advantage and protection by Officer Jenny. She checks out his story and discovers he is who he says he is, and immediately offers her apologies to the twerps for daring to arrest "important" people.

Ash asks what is going on, and Jenny explains that over the last three days, several Audino have gone missing. She explains they were tracking the dazed Audino and saw it talking to them, and assumed they were behind it all, so they tried to arrest them... and let Audino just wander off....

The two nerdy kids introduce themselves, the speccy boy is Doyle (Arthur Conan Doyle) and he has a Solosis, and the gothy girl is Christie (Agatha Christie) and she has a Gothita. Both are connected to a couple of the Audinos that have disappeared, and begin arguing over who is going to find the missing Audino. Gothita pouts angrily while the two argue, and Solosis just floats there with its stupid green asshole of a face being useless. Just then Officer Jenny gets a report in on her patrol car - the Pokémon Center's Audino is missing! They head to the Center where Nurse Joy explains that... yeah, that the Audino is missing. She really had no new information to offer that wasn't already given across the police radio. But the twerps follow anyway, offering Officer Jenny their assistance... and Cilan going WAAAAAY overboard in his enthusiasm as he declares that,"IT'S...... DETECTIVE TIME!

Okay Cilan, is the man.

He declares that when it comes to unravelling mysteries, he's the number one.... chef? Iris sighs that it's.... time to be annoyed again, while Cilan continues to LARP with delight. He learns that four Audino have gone missing in the last three days - Doyle's Grandfather’s, an Audino from another Pokémon Center, one from a Nursery School and now THIS Pokémon Center's Audino.

Doyle thinks they're being stolen by an evil organisation, but when Christie grumpily asks what they plan to do with them, Doyle fumbles for a reason and finally declares that they mean to open... a Nursery Centre.....

Christie grunts that this doesn't sound very evil and then offers her own take on things, all while Gothita stares wide-eyed up at her while pursing its ridiculous collagen pumped lips. She claims that a Psychic Type is probably involved, luring the Audino away with Psychic Powers. Cilan says she has a point, the Audino they saw did look dazed, maybe it was hypnotized? Christie beams happily, Doyle is frustrated (in those shorts and his reaction to girls talking to him, that'll happen a lot in his life) but Jenny says it is too soon to be certain. She suggests they split up and guard the three Audino that remain in the town.

Wait wait... they're not guarding them already? And aren't there other policemen to do this instead of a bunch of kids?

Doyle volunteers to guard an elderly couple and Ash says he'll come along. Doyle and Christie turn this into a dick-waving contest over who has a better Pokémon - Christie would probably win that too. Christie is going to guard a trainer called Mimi with help from Iris, and Jenny is going to guard the third with Cilan's assistance. She gives them all IPads and IPhones and tells them it will help them track the Audino thanks to Apple making it a point of tracking their customers at all times. There are little homing devices she wants them to attach to the Audi-

Now hang on a goddamn second, why didn't she put one of these on the Audino they were following earlier?

Doyle gets excited about how this is feeling like a real investigation, and Jenny snaps grumpily that this IS a real investigation and he needs to keep that in mind. Cilan agrees, while Iris wanders audibly to herself if Cilan realises this isn't a game as well.

They head around to see the various Audino, applying the tracking devices. Mimi thanks Iris and Christie and then goes inside the house, not inviting the two girls in with her. Jenny and Cilan have added theirs as well but are also outside, it's only Ash and Doyle who have managed to get invited inside for some good old fashioned freeloading. By a stroke of luck, it's also the elderly couple's Audino that begins acting dazed and heads for the door. The old man recalls it to its Pokéball, but it bucks wildly in the old man's hand and the Audino pops back out, heading dazed towards the door again.

Ash insists they'll take care of it and use their IPad to track Audino, contacting Christie and Iris to let them know what is going on. But then Mimi's Audino jumps out the window and heads off in a daze as well. Jenny and Cilan get the message and note that "their" Audino is safe at least... and then it goes walking by in the background, having apparently got out onto the street without either of them noticing. They are terrible, terrible detectives.

The twerps all follow their respective Audino, all meeting at an intersection of the clean and empty city streets. But as they follow the Audino, the IPads begin fizzling out thanks to the terrible AT&T plan they're on. Worried they'll lose the Audino, Jenny takes matters into her own hands and... relegates capturing the Audino to the two small, underage and non-official children she has had working for her in violation of any number of minor labour laws.

Solosis uses Psychic and Gothita uses Telekinesis, and two of the Audino come floating in a daze back from around the corner. But where is the third? Only dim old Ash takes it upon himself to actually go and fucking look, but Audino is gone! The others join him and find the tracking device, dropped to the ground. Cilan declares that whoever is behind this is aware of them and their attempts to track the Audino.

WHO'S THAT POKEMON!?!

Go on! Guess! Fucking guess! Ahahahaha, it's a fucking circle! It's a goddamn circle! Obviously it's going to be a Pokémon we've seen this episode since they use this in entirely the wrong way, so it'll be Solosis. But... I mean, Jesus Christ, it's a fucking circle! They want us to guess based on the silhouette of a fucking circle!

OH LOOK AT THAT IT'S A SOLOSIS WOW HOW DID ANYONE NOT MISTAKE IT FOR A POLIWHIRL'S TAIL SEEN FROM ABOVE!

With the two Audino apparently happy to placidly stand in place now, Cilan asks Jenny to explain just how the tracking device works. She explains that it reads the location by picking up soundwaves from a chip in the device. Cilan speculates that the culprits behind this are drawing in the Audino by playing sound at a frequency that humans can't hear but attracts the Audino, since they have exceptional hearing. Doyle guesses that this is what disrupted their IPads, and tells Ash to bring out his Roggenrola - it has great hearing too (with a name like that it must!) and if the culprits try to draw in the two Audino again, Roggenrola should pick it up. Lo and behold they do and Roggenrola is able to follow, and they head out of town and down country paths till they read a small rockface with a ladder on it. The Audino clamber up the ladder and then begin pulling it up after them, and a frantic Ash gives chase and tries to scrabble up the rock after them before sliding back down. Iris sighs that this isn't going to work, Ash insists it will and begins struggling back up and sliding back down over and over again, watched by Iris while Cilan and Jenny ignore the well-meaning moron and try to come up with a new strategy.

Doyle says he knows a quicker way, and has Solosis use Psychic to lift them all up the cliff. Ash congratulates Doyle who smugly says that his Solosis can pretty much do anything, and Christie squawks slightly because she can't actually say anything to dispute this. They head on after the Audino again, getting to a rope bridge which Ash tries to rush across. The Audino tear the bridge down and Ash has to scramble back to safety, and Doyle tries to step up to the plate to show off again... but Christie gets in the way and has Gothita use Telekinesis to get them over the water.

It lands them all safely on the other side and now Doyle is left seething as Christie basks in the glory. Ash has Roggenrola pick up the scent (well, sound) of the soundwaves and lead them on to find the Audino, and they arrive at an old abandoned wind farm.

What, did people stop needing power? Did the wind just stop blowing?

Cilan declares there are multiple culprits, it's elementary, and when Iris asks for an explanation he simply declares that an examination of the evidence proves it.... but doesn't say what any of that evidence is! He tells Jenny that "It's Raid Time!" and she agrees, it's time to find out who it i-

It's Team Rocket.

I mean, of course it is! They're inside the Wind Farm, expositioning all over the place. Zager is the one who provided them with the equipment to summon the Audino to them and block any tracking devices (and tell the Audino to stop people following them?). Zager wants the Audino to exploit these excellent hearing to create new, more powerful radar systems. The other two Audino show up and are let into the cage, and they're about to call Zager when... Cilan arrives! Dramatically silhouetted, he tells them evil is doomed as long as he is on the case. Jenny then steps in to declare they're under arrest, and Ash pokes his head in to snap that he should have known it was them. Jesse can't resist such an opening, and out comes the motto!

"How can you know that when you know nothing indeed!"
"The answer to that, as we feel the need!"
"Bringing the blinding white light of evil into the future!"
"Thrusting! The hammer of justice on the blackness of the universe!"
"Carving our names in da rock of etoinity!"
"The fiery destroyer, Jesse!"
"And with thunderous emotion, I am James."
"Wisest of da wise, I am Meowth!"
"Now... gather under the name of Team Rocket!" they all finish together, and Jesse and James high-five!

Ash explains to Doyle and Christie who Team Rocket are, and they stop the Audino in the cage. Iris demands the Audino back but Jesse snaps that Iris' wish is NOT her command and sends out Woobat to beat on some little children's Pokémon. They're promptly embarrassed as Woobat and Yamask takes a beating from a circle and a Goth kewpie doll, but get some vindication when Woobat is able to fight off Roggenrola. Unfortunately for them, Ash doesn't give up so easy and has Roggenrola use Stone Edge, shattering Zager's machine and freeing the Audino... who aren't too happy!

They blast at Team Rocket with a number of different attacks, smashing a hole in the wall and roof. Team Rocket throw on their jetpacks and warn that they won't forget this, then zoom away as Jenny tries belatedly to actually arrest them after standing around all this time. She is frustrated, but Ash tells her not to worry about it (after all, he's used to them getting away!), at least the Audino are safe.

Doyle and Christie rush up to Jenny to ask her which of their Pokémon was more helpful, Solosis or Gothita? She looks at them both as they struggle desperately for ascendancy in their doomed relationship, then tells them that actually Ash's Roggenrola was the most helpful! They're both crestfallen, and the episode ends on an odd note as everybody is gathered around laughing at the two children who actually did the bulk of the work and got mocked for it while the retarded 10 year old who was flailing about on a rockface gets lauded.

Welcome to the world of Pokémon, kids!
