Moral Learnt

Telling a girl to strip naked in front of you and your buddies within an hour of meeting is not a good idea.

Today starts with Ash and Pikachu running through the forest alongside a lake, Ash so excited to challenge at the Battle Tower for yet another win that he has deserted May, Max and Brock. Ash is excited, he is sure he will win and gain the location of his Seventh and Final Battle Frontier Challenge. He has good reason to be confident because after his victories so far, he has been....

He continues running with Pikachu, which suddenly pulls to a stop. He asks it what is wrong, and looks over in the direction it is facing in time to see a Beedrill (it's ALWAYS a Beedrill, even when it's an Ursaring it's really a series of Beedrills in an Ursaring costume) rise menacingly out of the bushes. It starts chasing Ash and Pikachu, but as they run a young lady steps out into Beedrill's path and calls for it to calm down, it's too angry and she can't understand what it is trying to say (also it is making a loud buzzing noise as opposed to using words). Surprisingly, Beedrill does seem to relax somewhat, and the girl appears to understand its buzzing as she declares that Beedrill was simply defending its nest, which is near where Ash and Pikachu were running. Ash and Pikachu look over in the direction she points, and see another Beedrill and a couple of Weedle peering at them from out of the bushes. Either this is Beedrill's family or its filthy child sex group, but either way Ash can see why Beedrill was upset and apologises to it. It tells him (through the girl's translation) that he should be more careful from now on and then flies away. The girl approaches Ash, and despite having the voice of a young woman she has a slender androgynous body, purple hair and is only about Ash's height, making her look much younger.

She explains to Ash that she doesn't actually understand the words that Pokémon are using, but she senses their emotions and gets a feeling of what they are trying to say. Ash introduces himself and tells her he is from Pallet Town, and she is about to introduce herself when a Gyarados tears out of the lake and roars angrily at them. She cries out to it to try to calm down and explain itself, and surprisingly it pulls to a stop and lets loose a few angry growls, and she tells it that it must be in pain but she can help. She walks up and pulls a twig from its coils, and it smiles (as much as those monsters can), growls, then swims back under the lake.

Team Rocket have been watching all of this, James saying he is surprised to hear the girl can talk to Pokémon, as is Meowth who thought only he was smart enough to talk to Pokémon. Ash and the girl meanwhile have settled down by the lake, while Ash brags about his friendship with Pikachu (which is sitting in the girls lap) who in turn tells/transmits to the girl that Ash is great, but sometimes he can act a little rashly. Suddenly a net hauls up the girl and Pikachu, pulled up by Team Rocket in their Happy Buddha Face Meowth Balloon as they cry out their motto.

"Prepare for trouble as it drops from the sky!"
"And make it double, good thing we can fly!"
"An evil as old as the galaxy!"
"Sent here to fulfil our destiny!"
"Wif Meowth dat's me!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jesse!"
"And James!"
"Annnnnd, add Meowth to da names!"
"Whenever there’s peace in the universe!"
"Team Rocket!"
"Will be dere!"
"To make everything worse!" they finish together.
"WOBBBBBB-UFFET!"
"Mime!"

Meowth recommends they throw her back since he already fills the role of Pokémon Interpreter. They start sailing away and Ash calls out Corphish, which uses Bubble Beam to blast the net clear of the balloon, sending it falling into the lake and promptly drowning her and his best friend. Ash and Corphish jump into the water to retrieve their corpses while Team Rocket watch, James cackling that they did nothing and now there are two Pokémon, why not stand around longer and do nothing and maybe get them all!?! Ash reaches the girl as Team Rocket lands on the lakeside bank, Jesse calling out Seviper which uses Poison Sting on Ash's back, hitting him "right on the sweet spot" before....

Oh hey, looks like the rest of the twerps finally woke up.

James calls out Cacnea which instantly hugs him with delight, while in the lake the girl protects the hurt Ash by calling out an Alakazam. It uses Psychic and turns Cacnea's Pin Missile straight back at Team Rocket, much to their chagrin.

Alakazam then uses Psychic to take Ash and the girl back to dry land, while Team Rocket growl that they don't get blown off without their say so (snicker), and get the shit kicked out of them for daring to put up a fight . Alakazam uses Psybeam and blasts Cacnea and Seviper who promptly start fighting with each other, Cacnea laying in the heavy punches due to their mutual Confusion. Pikachu shakes off the water from the lake and then uses Thunderbolt to send Team Rocket blasting off again (without their say so!). Ash starts congratulating the girl then sneezes, so she offers to take him and the rest of the twerps back to her place. Brock suggests she gets out of her wet clothes..... oh my.... but without any of his usual leering qualities, which is odd.

Inside her home, Ash has stripped off his jacket to be dried (apparently the rest of his clothes are waterproof?) but is confused, why isn't she naked yet?

A question Brock asks himself every time he meets a girl.

She smirks and says that she'll be getting undressed in the other room, and Ash is confused.... then grins, he gets it! Oh my lord, he gets it, he finally gets it! Why it's because of May!

Oh lordy, Ash.

She gently explains to Ash that no, no Ash, she's not embarrassed because of May, she doesn't want to get undressed in front of him because of her uterus. She's a girl.

Oh Ash, oh Ash you poor dim boy.

A short time later she introduces herself as Annabelle, and the rest of the twerps introduce themselves. Max is sorry he didn't realise she was a girl (yeah Max, but you're like two years old!) and May agrees (oh.... maybe their family are just all dim?) and Ash seems to have forgotten what they were talking about since he starts yabbering on about how Annabelle can talk to Pokémon.

She corrects him again by pointing out that she doesn't actually talk to them, more senses their mood, wants and needs, then congratulates Ash for the great lengths he went to in order to defend Pikachu. Ash laughs that yeah, he is great at doing stuff! Then he remembers that Pikachu said he could be rash sometimes and figures maybe he isn't so clever after all, before May points out that it is getting late and he freaks out, maybe he won't get to challenge at the Battle Tower today after all! Panicked and forgetting everything else in the world, Ash runs off as Annabelle tries to stop him, the twerps leaving too as she is left standing in the room with an odd smirk.

The twerps reach the Battle Tower and are surprised that Scott hasn't shown up like he usually does at this time. Ash says they'll just tell him all about it after he wins, and May asks if it will be as easy as he seems to think it is. Ash replies confidently that he is on a roll, then a door opens and a man with shaggy green hair comes out and introduces himself as Marin. He then introduces the head of the Battle Tower/Salon Maiden.... and it's Annabelle!

She explains Ash ran out too fast for him to be told that she was the girl he was looking for (not that kind of girl, Gentle Dodgers, just some girl in an unbuttoned top that Ash wanted to strip naked in front of him) and then tells him that despite their new friendship, she isn't going to go easy on him.

The rules of the battle are explained, with both of them getting the use of three Pokémon, but only Ash can substitute. Annabelle opens with Alakazam first and Ash brings out Corphish, putting a Water Type against a Psychic Type. Corphish uses Crabhammer but is lifted up and pushed away by Psychic, and Ash yells at it to hang in there and use Bubblebeam. The blast meets a Psybeam from Alakazam which kicks up smoke, and for some bizarre reason Ash thinks that thick obscuring smoke will put his crab Pokémon at an advantage over Annabelle's PSYCHIC Pokémon!

Alakazam stands staring into the smoke, and suddenly Annabelle's voice is in its head, telling it to sense Corphish's presence and use Focus Punch. Corphish is sent tumbling back and Brock cries out that he thinks it must be using its Psychic powers....

Well duh.

Ash notes that Annabelle never said anything, and realises that she is using her senses rather than giving out verbal commands. He remains confident though, knowing that he is just as close to his Pokémon as she is, completely forgetting that this fact doesn't mean that Annabelle can't hear him shouting out commands to his Pokémon. He sends in Corphish which.... gets smashed by Psybeam back into the wall before falling to the ground knocked out, Alakazam wins!

Brock can't figure out how Ash will combat an opponent who doesn't give verbal cues as to what she is going to do, while Ash does absolutely the last thing anyone would ever expect and calls out... Tauros!

The little seen Pokémon uses Takedown, but despite its considerable weight is lifted up by Psychic, then flung across the room before being smashed with Focus Punch. Tauros tries another Takedown but it is dodged, and Alakazam sends it flying again before a Psybeam smashes it into the ceiling and... TAUROS IS OUT!

Well damn, that was a waste of a surprise!

Ash says it is up to Pikachu now, and it immediately hits hard with a Thunderbolt so fast that is catches even Alakazam by surprise. Annabelle "senses" at it to use Recover, while Scott shows up to sit by the other twerps, apologising for being so late (he had to get his copy of Uncle Buck back to the Blockbuster maybe?) before smiling when he sees Ash is getting such a beating due to Annabelle's mental "link" with her Pokémon.

Alakazam finishes Recover and seems to be fine, so Pikachu leaps in and tries Iron Tail, which clashes with Alakazam's Focus Punch. Psybeam clashes against Thunderbolt and Pikachu is knocked back, then tries Volt Tackle.... but runs in the wrong direction! Apparently it has become confused by Psybeam, and is heading straight for the wall where it will bash its little brains out. Proving that he really does act rashly, Ash leaps into the way and takes a full-on Volt Tackle directly in the belly.

Annabelle grins that he has done it again, while Ash just smiles at Pikachu and says he is glad it isn't confused anymore. Annabelle compliments him on really going beyond what a normal trainer would be expected to do, while Ash says he is ready to continue the battle and has Pikachu use Thunderbolt again. Once more it clashes with Psybeam, both of them turning up the power.... but Pikachu is stronger and Alakazam goes down... Ash wins one!

Annabelle is impressed, and sends in Metagross and...

OH GOD IT IS A MONSTER KILL IT!

For some reason the twerps look at this giant overbearing monster going up against Ash's concussed fat rat and decide that Ash is sure to win things now. Scott points out that Pikachu is looking pretty tired though, and this is demonstrated when Pikachu's Thunderbolt is caught up in Metagross' Psychic, turned around and smashed back into Pikachu. The tough little rat hauls itself back up and tries Quick Attack, but Metagross absorbs it by using Iron Defence, then uses Meteor Mash to punch Pikachu.... right in the fucking face!

Pikachu insists it is okay though and tries Volt Tackle, but Metagross lets rip with Hyperbeam and EXPLOSION! Pikachu goes flying backwards as Annabelle smiles and Pikachu lands back down and.... it's over! ASH LOSES!

Ash.... loses!?!
