380: Let it Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snorunt!

Inside the Centre, the twerps ask if they can rest in at the Centre and she tells them they really should since a huge blizzard is set to come in. Brock grabs her by the hands and wails that he will stay with her until the warmth of their love melts the ice of the Blizzard. As she stares at him mouth agape, trying to figure out how to send him out to die in the snow, the problem is solved for her as the Pokemon from earlier enters the Centre and proceeds to cool him down for her.
Ash checks it out with Dextina, and discovers that it is Snorunt, which legend says blesses any home it visits with good fortune. Nurse Joy tells them that it is a frequent visitor to the Centre that comes whenever guests come to stay. As they talk, it rifles through Ash's bag and discovers Ash's Badge Case and pulls it out, alarming Ash a great deal. Nurse Joy finds it amusing however, telling them it is always stealing stuff from people, freaking out Ash despite her insistence that it will hand it back soon enough. It rushes away and Ash goes crazy, ignoring Joy's protest and taking off after it with Pikachu and Corphish along for the ride. The other twerps follow, as well as Nurse Joy, and they corner Snorunt by a wall where Ash demands his badges back. It has opened the case to look at the badges, and lifts one up and offers it to Ash, the twerps noting that Joy was right and it is going to give them back... but then it tosses the badge into the air and uses Icy Wind to freeze it. It drops into Ash's hand where he juggles the freezing cold object, and Snorunt takes advantage by using Double-Team to confuse everyone (and sees Corphish and Pikachu thump heads trying to get at it) before taking off again. Nurse Joy finally agrees that this is a little beyond the pale compared to normal, and Ash is more determined than ever to get the rest of his badges back.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket are trudging through the snow, miserable. Jesse shuts down Meowth's complaints by pointing out that SHE is the one who does the complaining around here, and proceeds to do just that as she blames the thoughtlessness of the twerps who KNOW that they are following them so why go through such horrible weather?
Jesse drops to her knees miserably, demanding that somebody save them, at which point James spots the Pokemon Centre beneath the hill they're climbing. Jesse is delighted, because they have Pokemon and therefore BY LAW they must be fed and sheltered!
Inside the Pokemon Centre, the twerps find Ash's Knuckle Badge on the ground and it is suggested that it is returning the badges one by one. Suddenly Corphish's eyes narrow (as much as they can) and it shoots into a nearby food storage room, followed by the twerps. There is no sign of Snorunt inside and Nurse Joy insists that it has never stolen food before, but Ash can be forgiven for not taking her word on it as he shouts out that he "knows your there!" and demands "you come out."
Unfortunately for Team Rocket, they misunderstood the use of the words "you " and "yours".
The twerps are surprised but Team Rocket get smug and then angry, they didn't steal the badges and they're not doing anything wrong other than snack stealing! Brock points out that "only" snack stealing is still stealing and they demand Team Rocket return the food (from out of their bellies?), at which point Snorunt pops out from behind a box and Ash begins chasing it furiously, irritating Team Rocket who dislike not being the centre of attention.
Snorunt blasts Icy Wind at Ash who ducks, and Team Rocket takes it full blast and freeze in place. As Ash, Corphish and Pikachu chase after it, Team Rocket thaw out and try to get into it with Snorunt as well, till Meowth shuts them up and points out that they should only be concerned with stuffing their bellies. Nurse Joy is horrified though, despite not being worried about the local wildlife stealing things from her visitors, and demands they stop stealing her food. Snorunt hears her anger and twists about and launches itself into Team Rocket, knocking them off of their feet. May points out rather testily to Ash that Snorunt is on their side so maybe he should help it out, and a quick blast from Corphish later sees Team Rocket knocked out of the window opened by Snorunt, and Team Rocket sail into the air crying out,"TO THE MOOOOOON!"
Ash tells Snorunt is a pretty good battler and Max notes that the Pokemon Centre is important to it. Snorunt holds up the badge case and May laughs that it is a good guy after all, just with a mischievous nature.... and then Snorunt uses Icy Wind to blast him in the face!
It races off through the window. Ash shatters free and takes off after it in a fury, while Nurse Joy notices with alarm that the storm is coming and Ash is in danger by staying out there. The twerps haul ass out to get Ash, leaving Nurse Joy behind (but taking the small little boy in shorts with them!).
Snorunt skips through the snow happily as Ash storms after it, till it slips off the side of a snowbank and goes skidding down the hill. Ash leaps after it, catching hold of it and telling it he won't let go and it will be okay, then spotting a rock he is fast approaching and INSTEAD OF CHANGING COURSE or otherwise trying to slow down he turns so he crashes into it backfirst and flips over it, lying unconscious in the snow with Snorunt standing concerned over him.
The blizzard's winds begin to blow the snow in over the Pokemon Centre as the rest of the twerps return, May hugging her chest to keep her personal temperature monitors from distracting Brock. They have had no luck finding Ash, and Joy says it is too dangerous to go out looking for them now, so they will simply have to hope that the 10 year old boy who has shown a penchant for flying off the handle without thinking about repercussions will be okay out there in the blizzard.

HEY TRAINERS, WHICH OF THESE IS THE PRE-EVOLUTON OF PIKACHU!?! PLUSLE, PICHU OR RAICHU!?! THE ANSWER IS FUCK PICHU AND PLUSLE, FUCK THEM BOTH IN THEIR STUPID EARS!
As the snow layers over the forest, Ash wakes up inside a small snow cave next to Snorunt. He thanks it for pulling him to safety, and realises that the Blizzard is really coming in full force. It offers him an apple and he thinks that it is trying to trick him into a shot of Icy Wind again, but it insists that it isn't so he takes a bite, then offers it back for it to eat too. He looks out at the strengthening snow and guesses that the others will be worried about him, and Snorunt decides to cheer him up by doing its May impersonation.
Taking the two apples, Ash is confused why it is handing them to him, at which point Snorunt grabs the cap off of his head and rushes out into the blizzard, leaving him even more confused than before.
It continues on through the blizzard carrying the cap, returning to the Pokemon Centre and giving it to May. Brock notices that the blizzard has stopped (what a lucky coincidence!) and leads them on snowmobiles to the cave where Ash is waiting, impressed that they found him.
They return the hat and he tells how impressive the igloo is, but when Max asks if Snorunt returned his badges, he realises it didn't. Joy demands that he return the badges and it looks chastened, but when she asks why.... Pikachu and Snorunt are grabbed out of nowhere by a mechanical arm by, who else, Team Rocket!
Ash demands the Pokemon be released and Joy asks if they haven't learned their lesson from last time, which is all the cue Team Rocket needs (to be honest they don't even need a cue) to whip out the motto!

May redundantly demands the Pokemon be released and Team Rocket decide not to just go ahead and do that, saying they gave up on the food stealing idea and decided to go with the Pikachu stealing plan again. Pikachu tries to blast through but can't penetrate the case.... but Snorunt can! It makes the interior brittle and smashes through as James and Meowth admit that the guarantee was that the case's colour wouldn't fade. Snorunt tries to use Icy Wind on them, but gets a taste of its own medicine when Wobbuffet steps up to the plate.
They take off in their Happy Buddha Face Meowth Balloon, pleased to have Pikachu and be done with the Snorunt since they didn't want it anyway honest. Their plan is a simple one, give Pikachu to the Boss and he'll make them rich for some reason... but their celebrations are cut short when they spot the twerps and Nurse Joy chasing them in their snowmobiles, infuriating James who claims there is nothing worse than someone who won't quit, and May tells them this is why everybody hates them.... which emotionally punctures their fragile egos.
Meowth turns up the flame to speed them up, but as they pull away, Nurse Joy leads the others through a forest shortcut (how does she know where they are going?). As they move through the bumpy terrain, Snorunt is knocked off of the Snowmobile and Ash has to catch it, hauling it back into place and telling it to hold on.
They come out of the trees and there they are, Team Rocket sailing through the air just before them, and Nurse Joy.... rides the Snowmobile directly off of a cliff and through the air as Ash stands up and HURLS Snowmobile through the air at them.
GodDAMN Ash, that's hardcore!
It lands in the basket and freezes Team Rocket before Wobbuffet can block, AND the balloon itself, leaving it to plummet to the ground like a lead balloon (well, an ice balloon) as Snorunt grabs Pikachu's case and leaps out to where Ash and Joy have just landed. Ash gets Pikachu out of the case as Jesse and James call out Seviper and Cacnea to fight them, but they're frozen by Icy Wind and Thunderbolted by Pikachu, and Team Rocket are once again blasted off.... again!
Again!
Joy tells Snorunt to give it back the badge case now, and Ash says that he has to go. Snorunt reaches out and grabs Ash by the coat, and they realise that the reason it wouldn't give back the badges because then he wouldn't play with it anymore.
He tells it that it can come with him, and it leaps back and begins bounding around, and Brock figures that if Ash wants to capture it, then he'll have to prove his worth.
Damn, this thing is high maintenance.
He sends in Pikachu to battle it, but Snorunt uses Double Team to surround it and then Headbutt Pikachu as it tries to figure out which is the real one. Ash has Pikachu blast the snow with Iron Tail which sends up a blast which wipes out the fake Snorunts, and Pikachu rams into it with Quick Attack and then a full blast of Thunder. Snorunt is knocked down and the badge case falls free as Ash throws his Pokeball and everyone waits to see if Snorunt has been captured.
And, of course, it has!
What appears to be the next day sees them back at the Pokemon Centre, Snorunt healed up by Nurse Joy and presented to the rest of the twerps' Pokemon for the first time. They all happily wave hello and Snorunt waves back, but when Corphish gets too close to wave a happy hello, it gets a blast of Icy Wind in the face and has to be thawed out by Combusken, which knocks it out. The twerps laugh at the fact Corphish just took a beating and got knocked unconscious, and Ash settles down to lay down a few ground rules to the delighted Snorunt.
Oh yeah.... this is going to end well.
